Abstract Early intervention during critical or sensitive periods, as advocated by the life course approach and developmental origins of health disease (DOHaD) concepts, reduces risk developing non-communicable diseases (NCDs) later in prevents their intergenerational transmission. Pathways through which social determinants impact include cumulative impacts economic privilege disadvantage, trajectory sorting, transmission inequities. However, implementing a to health, emphasizing promotion prevention poses challenges garnering support from policymakers. This chapter explores factors shaping policies for interventions, with focus on early drawing experience DOHaD research, how this can be communicated policymakers organizations interventions programmes.
