Abstract Yersiniosis or enteric redmouth (ERM) is responsible for significant mortalities among rainbow trout and other salmonids. Hence, its prevention and/or control has become a research hotspot. Antibiotics are effective control; however, accumulating evidence indicates that unrestricted use of antibiotics harms fish, human beings, the environment. Thus, finding safe, efficacious, cost-effective, environmentally friendly substitutes great interest. Reports showed dietary supplementation with functional additives health-promoting immunostimulatory functions could be promising strategy. Herein, we provide an overview non-antibiotic feed-based strategies combating EMR in without resorting to antibiotic usage. For this issue, uses application some vitamins, probiotics, prebiotics, synbiotics, quorum quenching probiotic strains, algae, organic acids, included article. The roles phytobiotics (herbal supplements), their phytochemicals, essential oils extracted from them will also elucidated. Some emerging nano-based feed supplements discussed. Considering advantages, literature declared these enhance overall health condition, haemato-immunity, disease resistance conferred high protection experimentally infected yersiniosis. Given perspective, article presents current situation latest knowledge on supplements, emphasizing not only support immunity decrease effects but minimize usage aquaculture. Limitations future perspectives effectiveness efficacy This review help aquaculture sustainability improve welfare trout.
