Abstract Ginger ( Zingiber officinale ) has been utilized for medicinal and culinary purposes thousands of years. Its extensive history showcases diverse uses health benefits. In this study, we conducted a thorough analysis the scientific literature landscape surrounding ginger using bibliometric techniques, aiming to explore recurring topics, trends, influential contributors, main journals publishing ginger-related research. Utilizing Web Science (WoS) Core Collection, identified 9,881 relevant papers published up October 4, 2023. The revealed an exponential growth in both publication citation counts since mid-2000s. Key phytochemical constituents, including gingerols shogaols, emerged as focal points most frequently mentioned medical condition term was ‘Cancer’ (n = 577), followed by ‘Obesity’ 180) ‘COVID’ 176). Journals such Journal Ethnopharmacology Food Chemistry played leading roles sharing articles. Our study offers broad overview research, highlighting significant increase scholarly interest globally. This not only contributes quantitative insights existing but also provides roadmap future investigations on ginger. positions promising candidate addressing contemporary challenges, inviting further exploration clinical studies.
