The presence of prolonged symptoms after COVID infection worsens the workability and quality life. 200 adults with long syndrome were enrolled medical, physical, mental screening, divided into two groups based on their performance. intervention group (n = 100) received supervised rehabilitation at Department Pulmonology, Semmelweis University registration number 160/2021 between 01/APR/2021-31/DEC/2022, while an age-matched control a single check-up. To evaluate long-term effects rehabilitation, was involved in 2- 3-month follow-up, carrying out cardiopulmonary exercise test. Our study contributes understanding emphasizing potential benefits structured enhancing patient outcomes well-being. Significant difference found baseline visit pulmonary parameters, as forced vital capacity, expiratory volume, transfer factor for carbon monoxide, coefficient oxygen saturation (all p < 0.05). follow-up proved that 2-week long, patient-centered program has positive effect people symptomatic syndrome. data showed significant improvement three months maximal consumption (p Multidisciplinary, individualized approach may be key element successful conditions, which improves workload, life, respiratory function, status patients

Objective: To evaluate symptoms, lung function, and quality of life a cohort patients hospitalized for severe COVID-19 12 months after hospital admission. Methods: This was cross-sectional study. We included survivors in one three tertiary referral hospitals the city Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Participants were submitted to function six-minute walk tests completed EQ-5D-3L questionnaire. Results: The whole sample comprised 189 (mean age = 59.6 ± 13.4 years) who had been admitted ward only (n 96; 50.8%) or an ICU 93; 49.2%). At follow-up, 43% presented with dyspnea, 27% whom restrictive ventilatory disorder 18% impaired DLCO. There no significant differences FVC, FEV1, TLC between without dyspnea. However, those still dyspnea significantly more DLCO (14.9% vs. 22.4%; p < 0.020) poorer life. Conclusions: After year, middle-income country present high symptom burden, changes, loss Ongoing follow-up is needed characterize long identify strategies mitigate its consequences.

To date there is no causal treatment for post-COVID syndrome, leaving symptomatic treatments as the primary recourse. However, practical implementation and effectiveness of these interventions remain underexplored. This study aimed to investigate utilization frequency therapies patient-reported across various modalities at a German center.

Purpose: Outcome prediction is a crucial component of rehabilitation in post-stroke patients. However, only few studies have focused on the influence stroke recurrence outcomes these This study aimed to determine impact functional independence using data from convalescent hospital. Materials and Methods: The included patients who were admitted our Data collected age, recurrence, number days between onset transfer facility. Scores for motor measure (FIM-motor) impairment assessment set (SIAS-motor) obtained at admission discharge. Multivariate regression analysis was performed FIM-motor score discharge as dependent variable. Stroke used independent variable, with transfer, total SIAS-motor scores entered covariates. To explore size deep white matter lesions prior strokes, we Fazekas scale classify recurrent cases into subgroups (0-1 or 2-3) compared them. Results: After adjusting above-mentioned covariates, emerged statistically significant predictor reduced Furthermore, stroke, those larger had significantly lower Conclusions: found be an score. Introduction: Patients following the acute stage of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 were shown to present with persisting symptoms including fatigue, dyspnea, joint pain, and chest pain. The aim this study was investigate effect a 6-week home physiotherapy program on psychological physical symptoms, as well abilities perform activities daily living in post-COVID-19 patients. Methods: subjects 39 adult patients who had been diagnosed COVID-19 hospitalized at University Clinical Center Kosovo. initially underwent assessment 2-3 weeks after discharge from hospital, sociodemographic data, functional performance using Patient-Specific Functional Scale (PSFS). Based their capacity, received two types brochures for that carried out over next 6 weeks. Upon completion program, 23 reported second assessment. Mann–Whitney Wilcoxon test used comparison variables obtained during first assessments. Results: Pre–post analysis showed excessive difficulty breathing, insomnia significantly less (p = 0.005; p 0.008; 0.034). On PSFS scale, mean score increased 5.2 (2.1) 7.8 (0.5) stair climbing, 5.5 (1.8) 8.8 (1.6) walking longer distances, 3.7 (3.2) 4.0 (5.6) running. Conclusion: Although limited by absence control group, findings indicate intervention can be feasible effective enhancing hospitalization.

Published: Dec. 3, 2024

BACKGROUND: The primary hypothesis for the use of sequential transcranial electrical stimulation therapy in rehabilitation patients with dyscirculatory encephalopathy associated post-COVID syndrome is potential synergistic effect on central nervous system. Specifically, method combines brain micropolarization — involving neocortex neurons and diencephalic affecting limbic system structures. This synergy expected to improve connections between cortical subcortical structures, as well neurohumoral regulation. AIM: To study effectiveness complex medical syndrome. MATERIALS AND METHODS: An open, prospective, randomized comparative included 142 encephalopathy: 79 female (55.6%) 63 male (44.4%) patients, aged 59 (45–69] years. average disease duration was 8.4 years, a period after coronavirus infection 3.6 months. After randomization, Group 1 (comparison group 1, n=48) received micropolarization; 2 2, n=46) stimulation; 3 (main group, both therapies sequentially. Treatment outcomes were evaluated based changes clinical symptoms over time battery neuropsychological tests. RESULTS: In 3, which therapy, all showed significant improvement (1.2–1.6 times) compared baseline (p 0.05–0.001). For alone (Group 1), there an reduction severity such cranialgia, memory attention deficits, irritability, sleep disturbances by 1.2–1.4 times. resulted tinnitus, fatigue, work productivity, dizziness 1.3–1.4 main overall alleviation psychophysiological issues (1.1–2.0 times; p 0.05–0.01); comparison groups 1.1–1.5 times 1.2–1.8 times, respectively. CONCLUSION: Medical using combined approach (sequential application stimulation) alongside pharmacological support shown be most effective due pronounced neurotropic physical factors involved, allowing correction whole range neurological, neuropsychological, motor disorders.
