Urbanisation, urban mobility (active travel), and public health continue to be three defining issues of the 21st century. Today, more than half humanity lives in cities, a proportion that is expected reach 70% by 2050. Not surprisingly, urbanisation has significant impacts on mobility, health, well-being. Today’s cities struggle with challenges such as those are either direct result infectious non-communicable diseases or related violence injuries. According World Health Organisation, lack suitable space areas for physical activities active living turned into epicentres diseases. The concept its connection not new. However, ways through which healthy city objective achieved poorly investigated academic literature. Accordingly, this article proposes holistic conceptual framework consolidating knowledge around factors impacting adopting scoping review methodology determine field’s scope, coverage, existing gap. To achieve above objectives, 3,189 research articles book chapters published between 2014 2021 were screened. A total 92 studies identified eligible inclusion review. This approach revealed importance understanding identifying enacting associated enablers. Covid-19 amplified urgency giving attention these issues. also showed need further investigates future cities. been drawn from literature guide research.
