This article is devoted to the linguistic study of phenomenon alarmism in media discourse. The influencing, informing and entertaining functions mass determine that modern news environment largely makes people read consume negative (the mind scrolling). objectives research include clarifying concept «alarmism», techniques, means actualizing panic. We analyzed articles online publications «Gazeta.Ru», «Kommersant», «Parliamentary Newspaper» using continuous sampling method. found connection between emotions anxiety panic, as well fact these concepts are included circle oppositions rational-logical mode information perception. authors relied on existing scientific illustrating possibilities transmission semantics fear. These category intensity language units, which implemented at lexical grammatical levels.
