With a band gap of 2.4 eV, CdS has been extensively explored for photocatalytic applications under visible light irradiation. In this study, nanoparticles have investigated the tribocatalytic degradation concentrated Rhodamine B (RhB) and methyl orange (MO) solutions. For in glass beaker, 78.9% 50 mg/L RhB 69.8% 20 MO solutions were degraded after 8 h 24 magnetic stirring using Teflon rotary disks, respectively. While beaker with Al2O3 coated on its bottom, 99.8% solution was 95.6% 12 stirring. Moreover, another contrast observed between two bottoms—a new peak at 250 nm UV–visible absorption spectra only by as-received which indicates that molecules broken into smaller organic case. These findings are meaningful expanding catalytic achieving better understanding tribocatalysis as well.

In the natural environment, mechanical energy is widely available as a sustainable and green source. this paper, we successfully convert on ZnO ZnO/Eu2O3 tribocatalysts via friction route. Electrons were transferred across contact interface when catalyst particles polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)-sealed magnetic bar rubbed against each other under stirring. At same time, holes left while PTFE absorbed electrons. Similar to photocatalysis, organic pollutants can be effectively oxidized by in valence band of sol-gel catalysts due their strong oxidative ability. The tribocatalytic tests demonstrated that could eliminate analgesics (paracetamol) stirring dark. By controlling quantity rare earth elements (1, 2, 3 mol%), speed, number rods, further enhance performance. addition developing tribocatalysis approach for purification pollutants, work offers potential route converting environmental into chemical energy, which used remediation.

Piezocatalysis, a transformative mechanochemical energy conversion technique, has received considerable attention over the past decade for its role in processes such as hydrogen evolution from water. Despite notable progress field, challenges remain, particularly areas of limited piezocatalysis efficiency and availability materials requiring non-centrosymmetric structure. Here, pioneering contribution is presented by elucidating piezocatalytic properties hollow CaTiO

As a newly emerging catalysis, tribocatalysis is receiving more and attention with regard to the criteria fabricate or choose materials as catalysts for it. In this study, two different commercial silicon (Si) powders, Si30 Si300, were adopted in tribocatalytic degradation of organic dyes. Only round nanoparticles from 30 100[Formula: see text]nm observed Si30, while some highly large irregular particles, 1000[Formula: × 500[Formula: roughly flat major surface, could be Si300. Stimulated through magnetic stirring using Teflon rotary disks, much 95% 20 mg/L rhodamine B (RhB) solution 97% methyl orange (MO) degraded by Si300 after 3[Formula: text]h 50[Formula: text]min, respectively; only 73% RhB 83% MO 5[Formula: 4[Formula: text]h, respectively. EPR spectra showed that superoxide hydroxyl radicals generated under stirring. It proposed those particles their surfaces dramatically enhance absorption mechanical energy friction there are less lattice defects hinder electrons holes diffusing which both results contrasting degradations dyes between Si30. These findings reveal huge difference performance among same composition.
