Areas with a dry climate constitute about 15% of the Earth's surface, so groundwater can be considered safe alternative available for people who are living in these areas. Groundwater has special advantages compared to surface water terms spatiotemporal presence, high stability, easy access, and often quality capable resisting pollution could solve problem shortage. The current study evaluated Irrigation Water Quality Indices (WQIs) as well predicting GIS maps evaluate resources agricultural uses Al-Najaf city. 24 samples were taken from existing wells examined characteristics relating quality. Total hardness (TH), Sodium Adsorption Ratio (SAR), Residual Carbonate (RSC), Soluble Percentage (SSP), Magnesium Hazard (MH), Permeability Index (PI), Kelley's (KI) among irrigation indices that assessed evaluated. results showed 95.8% sites fall within region extremely salinity danger /low sodium, 4.2% onto medium sodium class, Concerning SSP RSC all good quality, suitable based on Kelly's index, while only regarded unsuitable. final WQIs values exported ArcMap software create area's maps. Conducting spatial variability is essential making reliable interpretations accurate predictions at any particular site, there must continuous contaminants concentrations checking up calculations case need desalination process.

ABSTRACT Rapid urbanization and population growth driven by global tourism in cities such as Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, are major stressors the Yucatan Peninsula aquifer. As this aquifer is main water source for all anthropic socio-economic activities region, management conservation actions must be carefully established. Being a coastal aquifer, saline intrusion addressed analyzed. However, there scarce previous works regard making it difficult to incorporate these elements into territorial planning adaptive groundwater management. This work uses free-access data characterize of aquifers on Roo north coast through processing, adaptation, cartographic representation GALDIT index. approach identified areas that could show intrusion, later, results were contrasted with supply zones northern Roo. These novelty hugely relevant at regional level. In addition, they can used input promote strategies planning.
