trans-Tiliroside and (+)-pinoresinol, a flavonoid lignan found in plants traditionally used for diabetes mellitus care, were investigated antidiabetic properties through vitro silico studies. Four assays conducted: Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) assay to assess inhibition of albumin glycation, α-glucosidase evaluate decrease carbohydrate digestion, Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) antioxidant activity cytotoxicity evaluation on HT-29 cells. showed higher protein with IC50 values 113.6, 71.03 95.73 µM against glucose, fructose ribose-induced respectively. Moreover, trans-tiliroside demonstrated capacity than (+)-pinoresinol. Both compounds slight inhibitory no cells at 0.1-100 µM. An pharmacokinetic study evaluated their bioavailability. Results suggest can act as an inhibitor potentially reducing unwanted glycation reactions preventing hyperglycaemia-related diseases.
