Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) is an uncommon but significant cause of acute syndrome (ACS), predominantly affecting younger women without traditional cardiovascular risk factors. SCAD defined as a non-atherosclerotic, non-traumatic the artery, leading to formation intramural haematoma or intimal tear causing obstruction blood flow and myocardial ischaemia. Unlike atherosclerotic disease, has unique pathophysiological mechanisms. thought arise secondary bleed and/or within arterial wall, linked hormonal influences with potential triggers physical emotional stress predisposition such underlying connective tissue disorder. Despite being increasingly recognised, remains underdiagnosed, knowledge regarding epidemiology limited.
