We draw from the recent enactivist literature to articulate an operational definition of Wittgensteinien forms life as a self-productive collection constraints over collective behavior. propose that humans integrate and enact those account through Active Inference shared “regimes attentions”, which are experienced embedded normativity within direct engagement with sociocultural niche. Given elements, we discuss how lifeforms “encode information” in material niche, this information may be recovered by cognitive archeologists.

I discuss the latest formulation of Free Energy Principle as described by Friston, Karl, Lancelot Da Costa, Dalton A. R. In particular, acknowledge progress entailed explicit path integral article. However, argue that this feature still does not allow representation creation meaning or construction "adjacent possibles" biological / cognitive agents due to statespace embedding theory

We revisit existing criticism of the Free Energy Principle and Active Inference through concept cognitive contextuality. Contextuality describe property physical states which are brought about by very act their observation, such as position or momentum individual particles in quantum settings. Based on conceptual argument, we propose that contextuality drives construction semiotics. As such, it constitutes a fundamental component cognition any formal theory thereof must capture. At level, seems to capture inherently contextual nature engagement with world. However, cannot formalize this intuition due its definition terms Dynamical Systems Theory, comes well-defined space possible no properties. duality between agent-driven interaction spaces is implicit In consequence, emphasize importance ontic regime called "Participatory Realism", consider some ways FEP could integrate it.
