Abstract This chapter summarizes a wide range of approaches to creativity through history. The begins by reviewing how conceptions have changed over the centuries. These changes tend oscillate between two extremes. first is rationalism—the view that conscious activity pursued with intention and expertise. second Romanticism—the unexplainable bubbles up from unconscious mind; associated rejecting convention; expertise might actually interfere creativity. quickly reviews additional creativity: children are more creative than adults; form self-discovery; available all people, not only educated experts.
