Higher education, as the continuation and culmination of formal education process, has a role responsibility to optimize character building based on nation’s philosophy, namely Pancasila. Indonesia today is far from Pancasila’s hopes. This article explored landscape internalizing philosophical values through exposure concepts, practices, challenges at UIN Ar-Raniry. research used qualitative methods with naturalistic approach carried out Universitas Islam Negeri Ar-Raniry, Banda Aceh, Indonesia. The sample in this study was taken using non-probability sampling technique. Meanwhile, data collection triangulation techniques. were analyzed inductive analysis techniques an interactive approach, comprising reduction, display, drawing conclusions. results showed that process Ar-Raniry integrated tri-dharma higher education. built included fundamental, instrumental, practical values, which crystallized into five basic values: religion, nationalism, independence, mutual cooperation, integrity. Additionally, university strengthened religious moderation activities, Ma’had al-Jami’ah, other activities supporting student building, evidenced by certificates academic system Diploma Accompanying Certificate, also known SKPI.

This study explores the role of academic research in preserving, nurturing, and adapting Islamic culture amidst challenges globalization, modernization, sociopolitical changes. It focuses on three key questions: how preserves values, addresses posed by modernity, promotes inclusive multiculturalism while maintaining core principles. Findings from literature highlight integration values into modern education, alignment professional practices with ethics, use technology to preserve promote traditions. Case studies Egypt, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria demonstrate success these strategies, such as redesigning curricula incorporate moral teachings, embedding Shariah-compliant principles banking systems, fostering digital platforms engage younger generations. The contextualizes findings for Afghanistan, emphasizing need research-driven reforms sectors, cultural preservation initiatives. The Qur'anic literacy in pesantren plays a crucial role eliminating illiteracy and fostering generation of literate individuals. This article aimed to explore the tradition its significance both traditional modern Tuban. research methodology was qualitative, employing field study with phenomenological approach comprehend interpretation. Data gathered through interviews, observations, documentation, analyzed using an interactive analysis model consisting data reduction, presentation, conclusion drawing. is based on Karl Mannheim's theory sociology knowledge, which posits that actions interpretations meaning influence human behavior. Mannheim identifies three types social action: objective, expressive, documentary. concludes reading writing Qur'an involves complex interpretations. objective derived from religious norms Islamic boarding schools, making this integral part education identity. expressive for kiai santri represents obedience, devotion, spiritual relationships influenced by personal backgrounds teachers. documentary reflects cultural aspects pesantren, influences values community, mirrors ideology traditionalism, adaptability, respect authority.
