This study analyzed planned innovation to improve the quality of Islamic education management at SMA MTA Surakarta boarding school. It was conducted using a qualitative approach and case method explore understand information from taking steps strategies management. The by (a) processing preparing for analysis; (b) reading all data; (c) describing setting (domain), people (participants), categories; (d) presenting descriptions in narratives/reports; (e) making interpretations. showed that 1) increase teachers’ competency. 2) educational innovations include: a) strengthening school governance b) Strengthening character community c) Innovation management, d) increasing competence teachers schools e) facilities infrastructure f) developing students’ soft skills provide students with provisions so they can adapt demands developments science technology. forms activity are very varied. As an Educational Institution, it should implement strategic is systematic, consistent, programmed, comprehensive, sustainable.
