Ferroptosis is a type of regulated cell death recently discovered, characterized by the accumulation iron-dependent lipid peroxides in membrane, and it involves complex network signaling pathways, including iron metabolism, peroxidation, redox regulation. The dysregulation these pathways can lead to induction ferroptosis development liver diseases, such as alcoholic disease, non-alcoholic fatty viral hepatitis, cancer.Studies have demonstrated that targeting key molecules involved regulation reduce injury improve function different diseases inhibiting ferroptosis. Thus, modulation presents promising therapeutic target for treating diseases. However, further research required gain more comprehensive understanding mechanisms underlying role develop effective targeted treatments.

Oxidative stress increases the apoptosis of intestinal epithelial cells and impairs cell renewal, which further promotes barrier dysfunction even death. Extensive evidence supports that resveratrol apigenin have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiproliferative properties. Here, we investigated ability these two compounds to alleviate diquat-induced jejunal oxidative morphological injury, using duck as a model, well effects on induced by H2O2 in immortalized (IDECs). Ducks were randomly assigned following four groups, with five replicates: control (CON) group, diquat-challenged (DIQ) (500 mg/kg) + diquat (RES) an (API) group. We found serum catalase (CAT) activity total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC) markedly reduced RES API groups compared DIQ group (p < 0.05); moreover, S superoxide dismutase (SOD) levels increased significantly 0.05). In mucosa, malondialdehyde (MDA) content decreased more than addition, expression NRF2 GCLM genes notably those meanwhile, CAT was elevated CON IDECs, restrained H2O2-mediated increase MDA decrease Furthermore, protein p-NRF2, NRF2, p-AKT, p-P38; downregulated cleaved caspase-3 caspase-9; ratio Bax/Bcl-2 H2O2-treated IDECs conclusion, can be used natural feed additives protect against ducks.
