Abstract Educational robotics, as emerging technologies, have been widely applied in the field of STEM education to enhance instructional and learning quality. Although previous research has highlighted potentials applying educational robotics education, there is a lack empirical evidence investigate understand overall effects using well critical factors that influence effects. To fill this gap, conducted multilevel meta-analysis examine effect size under K-16 based on 30 sizes from 21 studies published between 2010 2022. Furthermore, we examined possible moderator variables robot-assisted including discipline, level, instructor support, strategy, interactive type, intervention duration, robotic control group condition. Results showed had moderate-sized students’ compared non-robotics Specifically, performances attitudes, insignificant improvement computational thinking. education. indicated variable discipline was significantly associated with learning. Based findings, technological implications were provided guide future practice application

Saudi students in engineering courses suffer from a lack of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) knowledge due to the teaching philosophy programs offered secondary intermediate schools. This weakness naturally impacts their motivation, grades, relationship with teachers. In this paper, we introduce new experimental experience Applied Mechanical Department Engineering College King Saud University, based on situated learning theory, which emphasizes that must be learned constructed situational context). involved introducing Lego NXT Arduino enhance enthusiasm interest through designing building robots agreement “Introduction design” course syllabus. Two challenges were associated with: line-follower problem maze problem. These took form an internal completion at end each semester. The was conducted for two consecutive terms (30 students, academic year 2019-2020), results compared those six previous (100 years 2016 2019). group demonstrated grades improvement (course mean grade rose 77.1 85.3), progress achievement, enables them actively explore construct knowledge.

<p style="margin-left: 21.3pt; text-align: justify;">In recent years, educational robotics has gained ground in policy around the world, and primary education is no exception. However, there not yet been a thorough synthesis of methodologically appropriate empirical research on effects upon cognitive performance among school students, which this paper attempted to do. Following literature screening, total eight studies published between 2018 2022 with sample size 567 children met inclusion criteria were meta-analyzed. Resultantly, medium aggregate effect favor experiments emerged (standardized mean difference .641), was significantly higher compared non-robotics learning (p <.01). No between-study heterogeneity detected. Subgroup analysis revealed slightly larger overall for interventions first- third-graders rather than those grades 4-6. Additionally, indicates that order enhance abilities should be longer four weeks involve robot construction. Based findings, implications, suggestions are outlined future practice.</p>

Published: Nov. 3, 2022

A sliding mode control (SMC) was implemented to the angular speed of DC motor in terms reference tracking and overcoming parameter uncertainties. Moreover, a detailed performance comparison method with Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) Control integral state feedback (ISF) presented. The research done using simulation Simulink MATLAB model transfer function. Parameters function significantly influenced augmented system performance. Based on results, SMC outperforms PID ISF control, especially system's time response. Using SMC, can be considered robust from resistance inductance uncertainties, no overshoot occurring
