Gelatin-based adhesives have limited practical application due to their bonding strength and high curing temperature. In this paper, we prepared a dual cross-linked water-based adhesive from waste leather-extracted gelatin, dialdehyde-TOCNF, polymethacrylate adhesive. The dialdehyde-TOCNF cross-linking with gelatin is accomplished through the Schiff base reaction, poly(methacrylic acid) was introduced form hydrogen bonds gelatin. optimal of developed achieved within time 40 min at temperature 50 °C, which lower than shrinkage leather. exhibited exceptional mechanical performance, T-peel wet peel reaching 1081 400 N/m, respectively. shows good ability on hydrophilic substrates such as wood, dry strengths wood were 5.52 MPa (57.72% higher gel) 4.71 (1780% gel), It highlights versatility in different materials.

This review delves into the processing of tannery solid waste, emphasizing fleshings and chromium-tanned leather waste. paper centers on fat recovery, chromium elimination, protein preservation, aiming to make them apt for animal consumption. also assesses potential introducing such recycled products global market. Drawing literature from past two decades, sourced comprehensively Scopus Web Science, 36 articles were selected because their significant contributions production powerhouses as India Brazil. Fleshings have shown immense feed, extraction tallow collagen rawhide trimmings yields up 98% 93%, respectively. Fermented fleshings, notably with Enterococcus faecium HAB01, demonstrate strong antioxidant capabilities. The overarching consensus emphasizes need rigorous purification when dealing chromium-containing wastes, addressing concerns tied Cr (III) (VI). Furthermore, raw stand out a sustainable, cost-effective, globally marketable solution feed production.
