Purpose: To assess the agreement of retinoscope-based peripheral refraction techniques with criterion standard open-field autorefractor. Methods: Fifty young adults (mean age, 24 ± 3 years) participated in this study. Two masked, experienced senior examiners carried out central and at temporal 22° (T22°) nasal (N22°) eccentricities. Peripheral were (a) using ancillary retinoscope component (P-ARC), (b) retinoscopy eye rotation, (c) values was compared an autorefractor (Shinn Nippon NVision-K) to agreement. All measurements taken from right under noncycloplegic conditions. Results: The mean difference ±95% limits obtained P-ARC T22° (+0.11 diopters [D] 1.20 D; P = 0.20) or N22° (+0.13 D 1.16 0.13) comparable rotation technique showed a significant for (+0.30 1.26 0.002); however, there (+0.14 0.10). With respect identification patterns, able identify relative hyperopia most participants (77%). Conclusions: can be another approache estimating identifying its patterns regular clinical setting. Translational Relevance: Retinoscope has high potential guide enable care practitioners perform effective myopia management.

Abstract Purpose To compare the control effectiveness and periretinal defocus between orthokeratology(OK) highly aspherical lenslets(HAL) in adolescents with myopia. Methods In this prospective study, 211 children( eyes) were enrolled Beijing Ming Vision Ophthalmology October 2022 February 2023. According to myopic correction method, children divided into three subgroups: OK, HAL, Single-Vision spectacles (SVS); according spherical equivalent (SE), they further two A-1.0 ≤ SE≤-2.0D, B-2.0 < SE≤-3.0 D.All followed up for12mo,and changes axial length before after treatment recorded factors affecting corneal shaping force for one day post-OK analyzed. Results AL growth OK HAL was lower than that SVS 6,9,12mo. Comparison of difference amount change HAL: 6mo( Z=-1.367 ,P = 0.317) ; 9mo(Z=-1.45, P 0.211) ;12mo( Z=-1.52, 0.365 ), not statistically significant (-1.0 SE≤-2.0D). The RDV270-300° subgroup higher subgroup(Z 1.382,P 0.016),and other areas, the subgroup. Em,SRI ,and thickness significantly associated force. Conclusions is most effective optical treatments controlling myopia affect under different parameters are different. For mild myopia, can achieve same as OK.

Abstract Purpose To investigate peripheral refraction and aberrations in myopic eyes after small-incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) surgery to understand the relationship between visual symptoms wide-field wavefront aberrations. Methods A total of 28 patients with myopia astigmatism underwent SMILE surgery. Peripheral were measured both before using a modified Hartmann-Shack (HS) sensor-based aberrometer. The from axis (0°) (15°) horizontal vertical directions measured. questionnaire was administered assess quality Results Post-surgery, relative exhibited reduced hyperopia. spherical aberration \({Z}_{4}^{0}\) changed 0.12 µm 0.24 on optical axis. However, spatial pattern remained constant, independent line sight. Greater variability observed direction retina than Coma significantly increased appeared be more variable compared majority satisfied postoperative daytime vision; there no significant deterioration nighttime preoperative levels. Conclusion Our study demonstrated that eyes, asymmetry along due incision size variations. Notably, large-field not found significant.
