A new innovation of the utilization South Sulawesi natural montmorillonite (MMT) as a support catalyst ZnO for dyes photodegradation has been carried out. ZnO/MMT photocatalyst was synthesized by wet impregnation method which then analyzed metal oxide content, surface morphology, functional groups, and area. The applied to process methylene blue (MB) methyl orange (MO) dyes. results showed that phase hexagonal wurtzite confirmed group analysis. had area 131.55 m2/g with pore size 4.61 nm. optimum condition occurred at pH 5 mass 0.2 g MB MO dyes, while irradiation time 150 minutes 180 MO, percentage degradation 99.35±0.22% 91.17±1.79%, respectively. Based on effectiveness test, extraordinary performance an efficiency up four cycles against three MO. Thus, is potential be used in textile industry waste.

This study reports on the first case of low-cost and environmentally friendly ZnO/SiO2 heterogeneous catalyst from pineapple leaves ash (PLA). Catalyst shows excellent performance in catalyzing transesterification waste cooking oil (WCO) with methanol for biodiesel conversion. focuses assessing influence Zn content physicochemical characteristics, using XRD, FTIR, SEM, N2 adsorption-desorption methods. In addition, three different levels (20, 25, 30 %wt) were applied. The results showed that all samples exhibited characteristics suitable use as an average crystallite size 31.83-34.15 nm, a surface area 88.97 m2/g to 93.41 m2/g. Importantly, sample efficient catalytic activity conversion WCO largest ZnO/SiO2-30 96.17% carbon chain C12-C20. optimum reaction conditions used 3 g ZnO/SiO2-30, time 6 hours at 57.5 oC ratio 3:1 yield 98.62%. resulting has extraordinary durability up sixth cycles. It material potential be renewable sustainable resources. production PLA represents agricultural into valuable materials future energy.
