This study investigated the reasons for project failures and cost overruns in building construction. The construction industry is well known chronic issues such as fragmentation, overruns, poor working conditions, insufficient quality, all of which result failure. Project failure are two most essential indicators success a because they have an equal impact on participants, both favorably negatively. These problems been evident many years across global industry, requiring identification primary causes to address these challenges. use quantitative qualitative approaches was important, it made easier accomplish overall goal solving problem data were collected via surveys through interviews. Data gathered from 104 team members Pakistan's industry. top five management, design, frequent design changes, errors, bureaucracy, corruption, site management. start-up planning, estimation, weather political situations, economic instability country. Purpose This study develops an innovative building information modelling (BIM) maturity model integrating Industry 4.0 (I4.0) and sustainability principles. It addresses the need to consider sustainable practices guide digital transformation in construction. Design/methodology/approach The research employs design science (DSR), combining literature analysis with practical development through iterative process. includes semi-structured interviews focus groups eight international experts, ensuring theoretical rigour applicability. considers implications of disruption on human interaction BIM I4.0 technologies. Findings identifies six key dimensions (processes, technology, people, organization/strategy, policy sustainability) levels for assessing implementation contexts. A systematic evaluation framework highlights critical improvement areas, including training needs strategies fight resistance change. Additionally, 42 success factors aligned dynamic capabilities cumulative capability theories are identified. Originality/value paper presents a novel uniquely comprehensive approach technological advancements practices, filling gap current assessments. Abstract Internet of Things (IoT) technologies present transformative opportunities through connectivity intelligent devices, environmental sensors, and integrated management systems. This study aims to investigate the benefits impact IoT implementation on construction sites by analyzing relationships between key factors outcomes for safety efficiency. Hypotheses were developed proposing positive correlations each factor effective adoption sites. Structural equation modeling analysis survey data from professionals site reports strongly validated research hypotheses. Positive path coefficients high statistical significance confirmed monitoring (0.38), equipment (0.343), predictive analytics maintenance (0.222) (0.369) as crucial enablers successful integration leading safer more productive operations. The findings highlight imperative focus areas provide actionable insights stakeholders strategies effectively leverage capabilities.

This research examines how Holistic Building Design (HBD) affects Lifecycle Management of Structures in the ever-changing construction market. HBD includes adaptability, environmental sustainability, maintenance, and disaster preparation. It is a key idea present boom resilient sustainable building techniques. A surprising dearth quantitative empirical on HBD's impact LMBS considering field's growing importance. study uses method to explore relationship between essential components outcomes especially Extended Service Life (ESL) Optimized Performance Value (OPV) are critical factors address this information gap. The polled 171 industry professionals utilized Structural Equation Modelling examine data. approach was selected for its ability complex relationships variables constructs. Adaptability Retrofitting (AAR), Environmental Considerations Sustainability (ECS), Maintenance Inspection Programs (MIP), Resilience Disaster Preparedness (RDP) profoundly influenced Enhanced elements LMBS. adaptation retrofitting, maintenance inspection programs, other activities increased value lifespan. These findings have major theoretical practical implications. work potentially fills gap by providing actual evidence HBD-LMBS linkages. Practically, results advise specialists use ideas management. Finally, our illuminates vital roles paves way ecologically friendly approaches.
