Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a recently introduced term for (SLD). Although the inflammatory process central to pathogenesis of SLD, research investigating differences in systemic inflammation across various SLD subtypes as well sex limited. This population-based, cross-sectional study investigated association between and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels among Korean adults (N = 20,141; mean age: 50.8 ± 16.7 years). The participants were classified into five groups that included no MASLD, metabolic alcohol-associated (MetALD), alcoholic with dysfunction (ALD MD), other SLDs. median (Q1, Q3) value hs-CRP level was 0.54 mg/L (0.33, 1.04). Among men, compared group, MetALD, ALD MD associated 41.9% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 35.1-49.1%), 46.8% CI: 35.0-59.6%), 51.8% 30.0-77.2%) increases levels, respectively. stronger women, 81.5% 73.6-89.8%), 84.3% 58.1-114.8%), 98.2% 38.0-184.8%) In conclusion, our findings indicate varying profile subtypes, more pronounced women

Background: Metabolic-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a novel term proposed in 2023 to replace non-alcoholic fatty (NAFLD) with the aim of better reflecting its pathogenesis and clinical manifestations. Vibration-controlled transient elastography (VCTE) an evidence-based, non-invasive imaging device used evaluate fat deposition fibrosis. It can effectively detect infiltration greater than 5%, which much higher previous ultrasound detection rate (it difficult below 30%). Nevertheless, prevalence characteristics MASLD children diagnosed based on these updated criteria are currently not well established. Methods: Currently, prospective multi-center population-based cohort study being conducted Wuxi, China, spanning from 2035, involving 5600 four primary schools. Throughout study's baseline follow-up periods, yearly physical examinations, laboratory tests, VCTE assessments, bioelectrical impedance analysis measure MASLD-related biomarkers. Additionally, questionnaire administered inquire about dietary habits. criteria, corresponding assessed. Results: Recruitment began March 13, 2023. To date, 1475 participants have completed examination survey. Discussion: Our investigated influencing factors Chinese school-age adolescents. By collecting analyzing data examinations survey questionnaires, it may propose new avenues for guiding treatment early-stage prevention children. Trial Registration: Clinical Trials Registry (NO. ChiCTR2400080508). Keywords: MASLD, student, incidence, VCTE,

Sex differences are a complex and crucial variable in developing progressing metabolic cardiovascular disease pathophysiology clinical outcomes. The female sex, compared to the male is protected from disturbances their resulting events. However, peculiar life phases associated with females, such as puberty, pregnancy, premenopausal menopausal stages, all different risks for development of (CVD). Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver (MASLD), condition hepatic steatosis, at least one feature syndrome an increased risk MASLD its progression CVD differs between men women. Differences several factors, including formyl peptide receptor (FPR) 2, adipose tissue distribution, pyruvate kinase (LPK), ketone body production, may underlie sex MASLD-induced CVD. Understanding specific factors involved sexes crucial. This knowledge will provide important insights into mechanisms responsible complications can potentially lead therapeutics targeted explicitly each offering new hope fight against

Background/Objectives: Functional probiotics, particularly Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. lactis CKDB001, have shown potential as a therapeutic option for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). However, their effects not been confirmed in vivo systems. Here, we investigated the of L. CKDB001 on insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, MASLD, and lipid metabolism murine model high-fat diet (HFD)-induced obesity. Methods: The mice were divided into four groups (n = 12 per group)—normal chow (NCD), high fat (HFD), HFD with (LL), resmetirom (positive control (PC), thyroid receptor β agonist). experimental animals fed NCD or weeks, followed by an additional 12-week oral treatment LL resmetirom. Results: supplementation reduced body weight, levels, HOMA-IR compared those group, indicating improved sensitivity. Additionally, serum triglyceride (TG) levels without affecting total cholesterol (TC) levels. consumption increased weight hepatic TG TC ectopic accumulation; however, reversed these changes, liver-specific effect metabolism. Furthermore, administration attenuated NAFLD activity scores, fibrosis, function markers (aspartate aminotransferase), enhanced Adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) phosphorylation. did considerably affect expression genes related to In epididymal adipose tissue, leptin but had no adiponectin; additionally, histological analysis showed increase adipocyte size, potentially linked energy Conclusions: Collectively, findings suggest that could be promising candidate improving sensitivity, reducing accumulation, mitigating MASLD.
