Abstract Integrating innovation and environmental responsibility has become important in pursuing sustainable industrial practices the contemporary world. These twin imperatives have stimulated research into developing methods that optimize processes, enhancing efficiency effectiveness while mitigating undesirable ecological impacts. This objective is exemplified by emergence of biochar derived from thermo-chemical transformation biomass. review examines production their potential applications across various aspects iron steel industries (ISI). The technical, economic, implications integrating ISI were explored. Slow pyrolysis hydrothermal carbonization are most efficient for higher yield (25–90%). Biochar several advantages- heating value (30–32 MJ/kg), more porosity (58.22%), significantly larger surface area (113 m 2 /g) compared to coal coke. However, presence often reduces fluidity a coal-biochar mixture. findings highlighted implementation come with costs, primarily due expense substitute fuels traditional fossil fuels. economic viability societal desirability highly uncertain vary based on factors such as location, feedstock type, scale, pricing, among others. Furthermore, biomass supply chain another factor which determines its large scale implementation. Despite these challenges, there opportunities reduce emissions BF-BOF operations utilizing technologies. Overall, present study explored diverse aiming contribute ongoing manufacturing practices, underscoring significance shaping environmentally conscious future.

With the growing concerns over environmental degradation and increasing demand for sustainable materials, eco-friendly composites have gained considerable attention in recent years. This review paper delves into promising realm of seed-based fillers, reinforcements polysaccharidic matrices production biocomposites that are yet focusing on those seeds, which can be considered industrial process waste. Seeds, with their inherent mechanical properties biodegradability, often waste systems, offer a compelling solution to reduce impact composite materials. explores various seeds applications investigates processing techniques used incorporate them matrices. Furthermore, it critically analyzes influence seed fillers physical these composites, comparing performance traditional counterparts. The benefits, challenges, limitations associated from also discussed, as well potential diverse industries. Through an assessment relevant case studies research findings, this provides valuable insights outlook alternative materials landscape, emphasizing role promoting greener more responsible approach engineering.

The unique Karst landforms in Southwest China led to fragile soil structures and erosion, compounded by the large-scale non-agricultural transfer of rural labor force. This study employed a two-way fixed effects model analyze impact mobility on green utilization efficiency cultivated land, controlling for unobservable individual time-specific factors. Mediation analysis examined how changes planting structure influenced this relationship, considering force heterogeneity. Results revealed U-shaped with initially causing short-term decline but leading long-term increase. mechanism action showed that indirectly affected altering structures; specifically, increased replanting frequency had partial mediating effect (0.158), while “grain-oriented” focus masked (0.067). Additionally, an aging workforce low education levels negatively impacted efficiency, complicating situation region. To enhance it is essential protect migrant farmers’ rights, improve agricultural quality, promote industrial upgrades, adjust structures. These strategies will guide regional agriculture ensure sustainable land resource use.
