Abstract Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) have many excellent properties, such as adjustable pore size and volume, clear active sites, high specific surface area other inherent characteristics. It makes them suitable for various applications, including disease treatment, imaging, sensing. The article reviews several types of biocompatible MOFs their recent advances in biomedical especially therapy. Finally, the challenges to be overcome this field application prospects material biomedicine are prospected.

Paper and cellulose-based materials are known for their sensitivity to humidity, which can create stresses among fibres increase fragility. More importantly, humidity lead the formation of mould stains, compromising both aesthetic value long-term preservation, particularly historical documents books. This study explored application in situ prepared Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework (ZIF-8), a zinc-based MOF, on paper as potential antimicrobial material. Hand-made commercially printed papers were tested assess effective deposition ZIF-8 network, with focus visual appearance physicochemical characteristics. X-ray fluorescence diffraction, infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy analysis confirmed successful network all papers. The Zn content varied, expected, depending time All treated exhibited minor variations brilliance showed slightly increased rigidity. white spots linked accumulation was observed, books where colourimetric microscopic more pronounced.
