ABSTRACT Mud crabs ( Scylla spp.) with their high market demand and less susceptibility to diseases are farmed in the coastal waters worldwide. Although availability of hatchery‐produced crablets is a key prerequisite sustainable crab aquaculture, hatchery production at risk from diseases, frequently experiencing bacterial infection. The present study detected Vibrio parahaemolyticus Shewanella algae DW01 strain brood, alginolyticus ATCC 51192 egg samples. antibiotic test shows that isolates were sensitive cefotaxime, chloramphenicol, gentamicin, nitrofurantoin; was exclusively erythromycin, ciprofloxacin, nalidixic acid; V. tetracycline; all S . strains found be ciprofloxacin most (80% isolates) specifically ampicillin, tetracycline, acid, sulfamethoxazole trimethoprim. In contrast, V resistant penicillin G, vancomycin; oxytetracycline, vancomycin, imipenem, 60% G vancomycin. Accordingly, 75% had multiple resistance (MAR); , one alga highest MAR value (0.3571). results implicate isolated long‐time exposure several antibiotics, broad‐spectrum antibiotics imipenem no more effective against these strains. This suggests stringent practice biosecurity measurements appropriate utilization approved (cefotaxime gentamicin) context infection type, intensity, environment.
