Background Atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases (ASCVD), including coronary artery disease (CAD), cerebrovascular (CVD), and peripheral vascular (PVD), remain the leading cause of death globally. South Asians exhibit a higher incidence than other ethnicities, attributed to range genetic, environmental, lifestyle factors. Lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] with unique apolipoprotein(a) component, has emerged as marker atherosclerosis ASCVD risk, evidence promote arterial plaque formation thrombogenesis. Objective The aim this study was explore associations between Lp(a) levels severity CAD, CVD, PVD in group Asian patients. Methods Following ethical approval, 60 consecutive patients who underwent angiography for any indication were reviewed. There 51 eligible participants evaluated level, Synergy Between Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Taxus Cardiac Surgery (SYNTAX) score, CVD PVD. SYNTAX-I score calculated using two-observer consensus on angiograms. Assessment by ultrasound/Doppler, estimating ankle-brachial index Doppler. multisite 2 (MADS2) SYNTAX tertiles used Statistical analysis performed SPSS software. Results discussion In group, we identified statistically significant difference being associated more severe (SYNTAX tertile 2,3). Despite numerical trend, statistical significance not confirmed relation MADS2-CVD or MADS2-PVD scores. A larger may be required assess these aspects.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death worldwide, and women who experience complications during pregnancy, such as pregnancy loss (miscarriage stillbirth), hypertensive disorders gestational diabetes, have a significantly higher risk future CVD. Increasing awareness CVD among these crucial for effective engagement in reduction programs. A descriptive cross-sectional survey using non-probability sampling method was adopted to explore knowledge with history pregnancy. Distribution occurred from February December 2021 via two tertiary hospitals Australia various groups social media. Of 364 responses received, sample 299 completed were considered final analysis. The participants' mean score regarding factors 14.5 (SD ± 4.6; range 0-25). Among them, 50.2% had poor knowledge, 25.1% moderate only 24.7% good its women. Statistically significant differences scores observed based on ethnicity (p = 0.009) education level 0.007). This study revealed gap complications, highlighting need targeted educational Improving health literacy, particularly high-risk lower socioeconomic groups, reducing incidence.

BACKGROUND The risk of developing atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) varies among individuals and is related to a variety lifestyle factors in addition the presence chronic diseases. OBJECTIVE We aimed assess predictive accuracy machine learning (ML) models incorporating behaviors for ASCVD using Korean nationwide database. METHODS Utilizing data from Korea National Health Nutrition Examination Survey, five ML algorithms were employed prediction high risk: logistic regression, support vector machine, random forest, extreme gradient boosting (XGB), light (LGB) models. was assessed Pooled Cohort Equations, with high-risk threshold ≥7.5% over 10 years. Among 8,573 participants aged 40–79 years, propensity score matching (PSM) used adjust demographic confounders. divided dataset into training test an 8:2 ratio. also bootstrapping train model area under receiver operating characteristics curve (AUROC) score. Shapley additive explanations identify models’ important variables assessing risks. In sensitivity analysis, we additionally performed binary regression which model’s results consistent conventional statistical model. RESULTS Of participants, 41.7% had risk. Before PSM, age sex differed significantly between groups. PSM (1:1) yielded 1,976 patients balanced demographics. After group higher alcohol/tobacco use, lower omega-3 intake, BMI, less physical activity, spent time sitting. 5 models, XGB showed AUROC values, LGB outperforming accuracy, recall, F1 Variable importance analysis identified smoking as strongest predictors, while sodium or LDL cholesterol significant variables. Sensitivity multivariable LR confirmed these findings, showing that smoking, increased risk, whereas intake activity associated CONCLUSIONS Analyzing behavioral improves performance compared traditional Personalized prevention strategies tailored individual’s can effectively reduce
