Abstract Glioblastoma is a highly malignant tumor of the central nervous system with high mortality rate. The mechanisms driving glioblastoma onset and progression are complex, posing substantial challenges for developing precise therapeutic interventions to improve patient survival. Over century ago, discovery Warburg effect underscored importance abnormal glycolysis in tumors, marking pivotal moment cancer research. Subsequent studies have identified mitochondrial energy conversion as fundamental driver growth. Recently, lipid metabolism has emerged critical factor cell survival, providing an alternative source. Research shown that reprogrammed glioblastoma, playing vital role shaping biological behavior cells. In this review, we aim elucidate impact on tumorigenesis explore potential targets. Additionally, provide insights into regulatory govern metabolism, emphasizing roles key genes regulators involved essential metabolic process.

Caigua (Cyclanthera pedata (L.) Schrad.) is a traditional herbal remedy traditionally used in Latin America for its health benefits and to treat metabolic disorders, including diabetes. Despite interest use, the phytochemical properties of caigua’s secondary metabolites are poorly known. This study aimed isolate main flavone glycosides from leaves caigua landrace cultivated Camonica Valley (Italy) using flash chromatography evaluate their potential activity toward peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) transient receptor (TRP) ion channels through luciferase intracellular calcium assays. We found that species-specific glycoside, chrysin-6-C-fucopyranoside, showed potent selective PPARγ, with no effects on other PPAR subtypes or TRP channels. These findings indicate plant could offer safer alternative conventional PPARγ agonists, whose use as antidiabetic drugs limited by severe side currently restrict clinical agonists.

Objective In this study, we aimed to compare the levels of inflammatory markers (C-reactive protein, CRP; procalcitonin, PCT) and blood lipids (total cholesterol, TC; triglyceride, TG; high-density lipoprotein HDL-C; low-density LDL-C) between patients with stable angina control group, explore correlation these parameters severity prognosis angina. Methods We retrospectively selected 113 128 group from medical record system, compared their factors lipids. also assessed using Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS) classification followed up for 1 year any cardiovascular events. Results found that had significantly higher CRP, TC, TG, LDL-C, lower HDL-C than group. Moreover, LDL-C were positively correlated angina, while was negatively correlated. During follow-up period, 37 experienced events, they those who did not. Conclusion Our study suggests inflammation dyslipidemia are closely related can be used as indicators
