Background:
Digital
health
interventions
have
the
potential
to
improve
at
a
large
scale
globally
by
improving
access
healthcare
services
and
health-related
information,
but
they
tend

affluent
privileged
groups
than
those
less
privileged.
Methods:
In
this
narrative
review,
we
describe
how
'digital
divide'
can
manifest
across
three
different
levels
reflecting
inequalities
in
access,
skills
benefits
or
outcomes
(i.e.
first,
second,
tertiary
digital
divide).
We
also
discuss
four
key
causes
of
divide:
(i))
literacy
as
fundamental
determinant;
(ii)
other
personal,
social,
community,
societal
level
determinants;
(iii)
technology
intervention
development

to;
(iv)
current
research
practice
exacerbates
divide
developing
biased
evidence
base.
Finally,

Human-centered
systems
thinking
(HCST)
