Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent form of non-apoptotic cell programmed death, characterized by the disturbance iron metabolism, accumulation lipid peroxides and disruption cellular antioxidant system. induces oxidative death through decrease capacity reactive oxygen species (ROS) in cells. In recent years, studies have confirmed that ferroptosis closely related to numerous organ injuries, degenerative pathologies even tumorigenesis therapeutic resistance tumors. While effect obstetrical gynecological diseases remains unclear relevant researches are still limited. this review, we summarize current understanding molecular mechanisms regulatory networks ferroptosis, together with potential physiological functions pathological roles clinical diseases.
