The Visceral Adiposity Index (VAI) assesses visceral fat and related metabolic risks. However, its precise correlation with sarcopenia is unclear. This study aimed to examine this correlation. A cross-sectional analysis was conducted using NHANES data from 2011 2018. To correct VAI skewness, a logarithmic transformation applied. Multiple covariates were included, logistic regression employed explore the relationship between sarcopenia. ABSTRACT Objective Patients with mild autonomous cortisol secretion (MACS) are at increased risk of cardiometabolic outcomes, such as hyperglycemia, metabolic syndrome, and cardiovascular diseases. Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is also associated risk. We aimed to investigate the prevalence predictors NAFLD in metabolically healthy subjects MACS. Methods Forty patients MACS 60 nonfunctioning adrenal incidentaloma (NFAI) matched for age, gender, body mass index were included. excluded various diseases that may lead NAFLD, diabetes, diseases, disorders. Non‐alcoholic was evaluated unenhanced abdominal computed tomography noninvasive indices. Results had lower mean attenuation values (Hounsfield units, HU) than those NFAI ( p = 0.001). Visceral adiposity index, hepatic steatosis higher group 0.009, 0.002, 0.023, respectively). However, there no significant association between HU value these There a serum level after 1 mg dexamethasone suppression test (DST) independent other traditional factors models performed multivariable linear regression analysis. Conclusions Our findings suggest an DST predictor

Background Previous studies have shown that pro-inflammatory diets increase the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD) and all-cause mortality. The dietary inflammatory index (DII) is a quantitative measure inflammation, its accuracy has been validated by several studies. Methods This study included 43,842 participants aged ≥18 years from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 1999–2018. data CHD was obtained through questionnaire survey, DII calculated using 24-h recall data. Generalized linear models logistic regression were used to determine mediation factors, subgroup analyses conducted evaluate interaction between CHD. Mean decrease in Gini (MDG) importance individual components. Results age 49.81 ± 18.10 years, with 20,793 (47.4%) being male. A total 1,892 (4.3%) diagnosed CHD, median score 1.33 (0.11, 2.40). After adjusting for potential confounders, analysis revealed independently associated [OR: 1.049 (1.012–1.087), p = 0.008]. Triglyceride-glucose index, visceral adiposity body mass waist-to-height ratio, high-density lipoprotein, glomerular filtration rate (all < 0.05) may mediate relationship Subgroup showed more sensitive <75 ( 0.001), females 0.028), those low cholesterol levels 0.004), individuals Framingham scores 0.005). As a result of insulin resistance (IR), women reproductive age have higher risk the development and progressing type 2 diabetes (T2DM), which contributes to decrease in fertility potential. Despite ongoing scientific discoveries fields endocrinology patient-centered treatment goals, significant part global population lacks compensation for T2DM. Therefore, one alternative approaches treating with T2DM should be considered achieving glycemic targets while simultaneously correcting IR. The aim is evaluate efficacy sodium-glucose cotransporter inhibitors (SGLT2i) correction carbohydrate lipid metabolism A 12-week study involved 30 who met criteria. Based on their hypoglycemic therapy, participants were divided into two groups: group (n=15), received standard medication therapy (SMT) combined SGLT2i (dapagliflozin 10 mg/daily doses or empagliflozin 10-25 doses), control SMT consisting metformin 2000 doses, alpha-lipoic acid 600 inositol doses. groups comparable regarding primary disease its duration, age, body composition, anthropometric parameters, laboratory-instrumental characteristics IR, characteristics. Analysis after 12 weeks revealed differences outcomes between groups. Women group, іSGLT2 as regimen, experienced statistically reduction IR markers. Specifically, HOMA-IR index decreased 2.3-fold compared baseline values (study vs. group: ∆+127.77%; p<0.001). Improvements also observed composition: 1.4-fold visceral fat content (VFC) 1.3-fold total percentage ∆+38.25%; p=0.002 ∆+33.23%; p=0.003, respectively). Patients achieved better average level glycated hemoglobin (HbA1C) 7.26±0.86% (p<0.001) 8.48±0.80% representing an improvement ∆+16.80% (p=0.003).
