Chronic kidney disease (CKD) represents one of the most common complications type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1D). Oxidative stress (OS) can be considered as a key link pathogenesis CKD associated with T1D, therefore, identification redox status markers is important for prevention development and progression this disorder. The study aimed to assess substances generated during oxidative destruction proteins their correlation glomerular filtration rate (GFR) in patients T1D stage 1–3 CKD. involved healthy individuals (n = 14), showing no signs 30), well 60), 2 38), 3 31). Healthy participants were matched index group by age gender: 42.9% males, 57.1% females, average was 30.6 ± 4.2 years; body mass index, systolic diastolic blood pressure, lipid profile within normal. It has been found that demonstrate plasma accumulation early delayed neutral base products protein modification (OPM): spontaneous 157% based on median, metal-induced 143% median relative individuals. We have revealed decrease overall antioxidant (OAS) 51% compared without Estimated GFR, integral indicator renal function, decreases increasing levels OPM products, decreasing OAS. data obtained allow us consider OAS affordable informative methods T1D.

Diabetes mellitus represents a complicated metabolic condition marked by ongoing hyperglycemia arising from impaired insulin secretion, inadequate action, or combination of both. Mitochondrial dysfunction has emerged as significant contributor to the aetiology diabetes, affecting various processes critical for glucose homeostasis. This review aims elucidate complex link between mitochondrial and covering spectrum diabetes types, role mitochondria in resistance, highlighting pathophysiological mechanisms, DNA damage, altered biogenesis dynamics. Additionally, it discusses clinical implications complications its complications, diagnostic approaches assessing function diabetics, therapeutic strategies, future directions, research opportunities.
