Hypertension, a major global health concern, is closely associated with obesity and lipid abnormalities. Remnant cholesterol (RC), triglyceride-rich lipoprotein component, has been linked to cardiovascular diseases, but its joint impact body mass index (BMI) on hypertension risk remains unclear. We analyzed data from 3805 participants (mean age: 57 years; 44.3% male) in the China Health Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) 2011-2020. Inclusion criteria were adults aged over 45 years complete blood lipids BMI. Participants baseline or missing covariate excluded. Cox proportional hazard models assessed associations, while mediation analysis explored RC's role BMI-hypertension linkage. Over 9-year follow-up, 590 developed hypertension. Obesity (BMI ≥28.0 kg/m²) high RC levels independently (HR: 2.18; 95% CI: 1.48-3.21 for highest tertile). mediated 7.07% of BMI's effect hypertension, BMI 29.3% effect. This study highlights intertwined roles development. Targeting both factors may enhance prevention strategies.

A common pathophysiological association between lipid metabolism and sex hormone levels has been revealed in recent research. The atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) is the marker currently used to evaluate metabolism. purpose this research was discover relationship AIP testosterone deficiency (TD) a nationwide representative population. Data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) database 2011 2016 were utilized cross-sectional formula, lg [TG (mmol/L)/HDL-C(mmol/L)], applied determine AIP. Total serum define TD. Our researcher smoothed curve fitting multivariate logistic or linear regression analysis inspect TD among adult males. consistency these results examined various population subgroups. In total, 1,198 individuals (28.6%) stratified into group. We observed statistically significant differences (P values < 0.05) for all variables. After correcting potential confounders, our researchers discovered strong positive probability developing With each additional unit AIP, incidence increased by 2.81-fold Subgroup analyses showed correlations majority subgroups remained stable. However, marital status, CKD, smoking, alcohol consumption may modify association. higher correlated with lower level This correlation be altered factors including marriage, chronic kidney disease, alcohol, smoking consumption.

Abstract Objective This study aims to assess the relationship between Phenotypic age acceleration (PhenoAgeAccel) and testosterone deficiency (TD) in US male, using National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) data from 2015 2016. Methods explored PhenoAgeAccel TD by analyzing a sample reflecting male population of United States (n = 1,402; NHANES 2015–2016). (PA) is calculated nine blood-based biomarkers. was extracting residuals regressing phenotypic on chronological (CA). defined as serum levels below 300 ng/dL, accordance with criteria set forth AUA. research used multivariable logistic models examine connection TD. Additionally, it included subgroup interaction analyses variations among different groups. Smoothed curve fitting generalized additive modelling (GAM) were also employed analyze further. Results The 1,402 subjects, 293 diagnosed 1,109 without. weighted multivariate regression model indicated an 8% higher probability for each unit increase (OR: 1.08, 95% CI: 1.05–1.11) after accounting all covariates. Subgroup analysis outcomes uniform across various categories, demonstrating significant positive Interaction tests showed that link remained consistent P-values exceeding 0.05. Also, non-linear discovered, progressive risk elevated PhenoAgeAccel, exhibiting J-shaped (inflection point: -9.26, p < 0.05). Conclusions Our suggests may be correlated heightened likelihood developing Consequently, could potentially serve valuable biomarker early identification individuals at TD, implications clinical management public health nutrition strategies.
