With the recent technological advancements, such as internet, big data, and cloud computing, China’s digital economy plays a significant role in economic development. However, may also affect environmental quality, but prevailing literature is scant on how affects urban pollution. To fill this gap, study established an index system based 277 prefecture-level cities China calculated their indicators from 2011 to 2019. Using two-way fixed effects model, mediation effect model moderation multi-dimensional empirical test conducted determine impact of pollution internal mechanisms. Empirical results indicate that significantly reduces pollutant emissions shows spatial heterogeneity. After series robustness tests endogenous analysis, our findings are consistent. The mechanism reveal can help mitigate through improved industrial structure, promotion green innovation, financial Further, demonstrate government intervention enhance negative economy. Moreover, heterogeneity (i.e., city size, time, space heterogeneity) show development more reducing large eastern coastal cities. While policy has been found after being adjusted by national strategy. Our enriches research regarding causes mechanisms pollution, provides evidence contributes control decision-making references for enabling growth maximizing its reduction power.

This study is significant because it fills the gap in future literature by looking at panel of 5 Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa (BRICS) economies regarding important role financial development (FD) environmental deterioration under holistic measures FD quality, something that has been largely overlooked preceding studies. Consequently, this explores effects FD, employing a composite quality proxy (CEQP) (CFDP). In pursuit objective, continuously updated fully modified (Cup-FM) bias corrected (Cup-BC) procedures are applied. These enabled us to comprehensively explore dynamic interactions between combined index for CEQP controlling agricultural activities, economic growth, renewable energy consumption, nonrenewable consumption (NREC) 5-BRICS from 2005 2019. The empirical results show CFDP appeases thus improves quality. activities intensify deterioration. analysis also reveals U-shaped relationship growth (inverted U-type Kuznets curve hypothesis) BRICS nations. Additionally, whereas NREC decreases it. As supported study, policymakers should encourage sector support green initiatives achieve stability.

The issue of climate change and environmental degradation has been prevailing for the last few decades. Yet economies are further expanding due to free trade agreement which accelerates energy carbon intensive commodities across regions. A prominent example such is Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (R.C.E.P.), mostly remains ignored. current research study explores influence financial development (F.D.) efficiency (E.N.E.F.) on emissions in R.C.E.P. economies. Also, this analyses role economic growth renewable quality during period from 1990 2020. Panel data approaches as slope heterogeneity, cross-section dependence, second-generation panel unit root test used. non-normally distributed variables found cointegrated. Therefore, a novel method moments quantile regression results demonstrate that F.D. positively associated with CO2 emissions. At same time, E.N.E.F. consumption (R.E.C.) significantly reduce level promote green environment all quantiles. Kuznets curve valid These robust validated by Fully-Modified Ordinary Least Square – parametric approach. two-way significant causal association exists between carbon-economic growth, carbon-F.D., carbon-R.E.C., carbon-E.N.E.F.. findings suggest an enhancement R.E.C., improvement approaches, implications region.

Unquestionably, energy transition, which entails increasing renewables in the mix, is among most reliable strategies to discontinue utilization of fossil fuels and achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this context, technological advancement can not only stimulate green supply but also promote resource efficiency for realizing ecological goals. Also, persistent long-term policies uninterrupted investments are needed progress on SDGs climate control sustainable development. Hence, factors such as economic government stability pertinent implementing governing strategies. Against background, study assesses potential transition meeting goals by taking into account roles stability, technology, BRICS from 1992 2018. Using second-generation Westerlund cointegration test, found a long-run association variables. The findings Continuously Updated Fully Modified (CuP-FM) test disclosed that effective limiting footprint (EF) BRICS. Alongside this, technology reduce degradation. addition, stimulates environmental sustainability, while population density decreases sustainability. Finally, implications these conclusions discussed policy directions provided.
