The realisation of the low-carbon transition energy system in resource-intensive regions, as embodied by Shanxi Province, depends on a thorough understanding factors impacting power sector’s carbon emissions and an accurate prediction peak trend. Because this, industry’s province are measured this article from 1995 to 2020 using data Intergovernmental Panel Climate Change (IPCC). To obtain deeper sector, factor decomposition is performed Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index (LMDI). Second, order precisely mine relationship between variables emissions, Sparrow Search Algorithm (SSA) aids optimisation Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM). In implement SSA-LSTM-based industry, four development scenarios finally built up. findings indicate that: (1) There has been fluctuating upward trend Province’s total industry 2020, with cumulative growth 372.10 percent. (2) intensity consumption main restricting rise contributing -65.19%, while per capita secondary contribution factor, 158.79%, driver emissions. (3) While baseline scenario rapid fail 2030, low green at 243,991,100 tonnes 258,828,800 tonnes, respectively, 2025 2028. (4) Based performance results, cities like Shanxi’s should concentrate upgrading strengthening industrial structure, getting rid obsolete production capacity, encouraging faster each help sector reach performance.

Purpose This study investigates how the initiatives and controversies related to environmental, social governance (ESG) explain firm efficiency. Design/methodology/approach Firstly, this applies data envelopment analysis with epsilon-based measure estimate efficiency of 80 companies in Chinese energy sector 2022. approach accounts for diversity relative importance inputs outputs from a multidimensional perspective. Secondly, regresses variables ESG on estimated scores through generalised additive model, which can capture nonlinear patterns. Findings finds that a) samples have i) about 49% room improvement efficiently optimising their resources business outcomes ii) highest initiatives, followed by initiative. b) 69% them controversy are greater than average value. c) A cluster indicates higher counterparts. d) nonlinearly Research limitations/implications The findings practical implications policy makers managers who prioritise ESG, particularly regarding (i) need examine performance perspective, is, multiple simultaneously, (ii) nonlinearity nexus between graphical forms, (iii) balance address controversies. Originality/value integrates statistical approaches examining ensuring sustainable growth within beyond.

Addressing global warming is one of the most pressing environmental challenges and a crucial agenda for humanity. In this literature study, we employed bibliometrics to reproduce nearly two decades research on carbon emission reduction in China, largest emitter worldwide. The scientometrics analysis was conducted 1570 academic works published between 2001 2021 concerning China's characterize knowledge landscape. Using CiteSpace VOSviewer, basic characteristics, forces, base, topic evolution, hotspots were identified revealed. results show that attention emissions have increased recent years, giving rise leading institutions relatively stable core journal groups field. disciplines are concentrated, but collaboration needs strengthening. mainly causes, impacts, countermeasures frontiers been constantly advanced expanded. future, more effort, cooperation strengthen. changing landscape hotspot clusters reveals transition towards low-carbon economy. Through comprehensive potential obstacles development, three promising areas action (low-carbon cities, technologies industries, transforming energy system) proposed directions address remaining gaps systematically.

Simultaneously achieving economic development and environmental protection is a shared global challenge. While the positive effect of regulations on protecting environment has been widely recognized, attention paid to low-carbon governance corporate green transformation remains insufficient. Based two-stage least square regression model (2SLS) instrumental variables, this paper utilizes panel data from China identify influence mechanism government enterprise development. It explores perspective fiscal decentralization. The findings show that (1) Low-carbon significantly promotes development, primarily through improving industrial structure technological innovation; (2) notably private enterprises but little state-owned enterprises. There are also geographical differences, results better in Eastern than Central Western parts China; (3) Fiscal decentralization at both central local levels inhibits driving by causing mismatch human resources. Therefore, promote must prioritize actively guide structural upgrading innovation, implement differentiated measures tailored different ownership enterprises, optimize assessment indicators for This helps deepen understanding relationship between developing countries. can be used as reference departments formulate relevant policies.

Abstract The present study aims to investigate the dynamic information spillover relationship between Chinese carbon and stock markets, as well impact of extreme weather shocks exerted on this relationship. method adopted is least absolute shrinkage selection operator–vector autoregressive–Diebold-Yilmaz approach so that degree direction risk spillovers among markets can be assessed simultaneously. Empirical results reveal there a high level in comparison return spillover. market receives from high-polluting sectors, but it will turn into transmitter under conditions. Weather significantly affect may lead low-polluting sectors. portfolio strategy constructed based identified shown achieve higher average returns than strategies focusing single or sector. This paper first integrate 38 sector indices for different pollution intensities, comprehensively exploring their interrelationships threats. corresponding practical policy implications investors regulators are also provided along with these findings.

In recent years, research has focused on designing buildings with higher energy efficiency and lower emissions by considering multiple objectives. This can impact financial savings, smaller environmental footprints, consumption optimization. The purpose of the current study is to develop a new technique solve this challenging multiple-objective optimization problem. While there are different methods problems, based NLP theory, not any metaheuristic algorithm that all problems accurately. Sometimes, outcome basic local optimum. Therefore, reach global optimum, we propose Improved Billiard-based Optimization Algorithm (IBOA). Moreover, in some cases, model suffers from premature convergence, which prevents reaching an accurate result. Hence, aims problem attain better convergence results using proposed method minimize CO2-eq life cycle costs. design variables include parameters envelope single-family residential dwelling indicate presented method. Global climate change has emerged as a persistent global crisis. Under the dual pressures of industrial structure upgrading and ecological environment improvement, enhancing enterprise ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) performance can contribute to achieving sustainable development economy. Selected sample 285 prefecture-level cities in China from 2005 2020 panel data listed companies empirically examine impact agglomeration on corporate its heterogeneity effects. We found that generally positively affects performance, with significant promotion manufacturing “U”-shaped relationship between producer services.
