ABSTRACT Background Nasal discharge is one of the cardinal symptoms chronic rhinosinusitis, impacting over 50% patients. For patients with refractory to standard medical therapy, endoscopic sinus surgery an option. The objective this study characterize how nasal improves after in rhinosinusitis. Methods literature was searched for articles reporting symptom data both at baseline and surgery. Specific interest on 22‐item sinonasal outcome test (SNOT‐22) were “need blow nose,” “runny “postnasal discharge,” “thick discharge.” SNOT‐22 scores ranged from 0 5 based upon severity. Visual analog scale equivalents recorded when available. Results A total 16 studies ( n = 7193) included analysis. All four questions saw significant improvement, need nose (‒1.8 [95% confidence interval, CI: ‒2.3, ‒1.2]) runny ‒1.9, ‒1.1]) seeing largest benefit. Patients polyps more improvement than those without polyps. difference between polyp no groups (‒1.9 vs. ‒1.0, p < 0.001) 0.0001). undergoing index or revision all symptoms. Conclusion Surgery rhinosinusitis globally, particular benefit SNOT‐22. see larger degrees compared However, also experience discharge.

We congratulate Dorismond et al. [1] on their impactful study, " Real-world predictors of dupilumab prescription in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis nasal polyps" published the International Forum Allergy & Rhinology. The study provides valuable insights into factors influencing for polyps (CRSwNP). However, several limitations should be addressed to strengthen findings. First, a limitation is its cross-sectional design and short follow-up period, which hinder assessment long-term outcomes such as recurrence, safety, resistance. Longitudinal studies multiple data points are necessary track biomarkers symptoms over time, while also exploring resistance mechanisms like antibody production. Expanding sample size conducting multicenter would enhance robustness findings provide deeper treatment effectiveness. Secondly, CRSwNP complex immune-mediated disease involving inflammatory pathways, including Th1, Th17, epithelial barrier dysfunction [2]. While focuses Th2-driven inflammation, targeting single pathway may not offer control, particularly cases. Integrating multiomics explore interactions among these pathways investigating combination therapies other biologics or small molecules could comprehensiveness sustainability strategies. Moreover, predicting medication use surgical but lacks personalized analyses comparing surgery pharmacotherapy alone, limits clinical applicability. To address this, comprehensive efficacy evaluation model developed that incorporates patient-specific severity, biomarkers, comorbidities. This optimize decision-making between biologic therapies, thereby enhancing precision improving Additionally, heterogeneity polyp microenvironment can significantly influence responses [3]. Techniques immunohistochemistry single-cell sequencing used differences healthy tissue [4]. Studying interplay microenvironmental regulation medicine. Last, emphasizes biological effects overlooks improvements quality life. Incorporating tools SNOT-22 patient satisfaction measures more [5]. Including patient-reported core metrics better capture real-world experiences, relevance informing optimization. In conclusion, although practice, further addressing ensure broader applicability value. studies, integration, approaches will reliability authors declare they have no known competing financial interests personal relationships influenced work reported this paper. Objective: To evaluate the relationship between air pollution, meteorological factors, and eosinophils in peripheral blood of allergic rhinitis (AR) patients. Methods: We conducted a retrospective study medical records from Ninth Medical Center PLA General Hospital Beijing. A review (1st January 2014-31th August 2022) 1080 AR patients who underwent eosinophil count tests. Patients were stratified into elevated normal groups. Daily data (mean temperature relative humidity) ambient pollutant levels (PM2.5, PM10, NO2, SO2, CO, ozone [O3]) collected. The mean factors on day measurement calculated separately for each group. Linear regression was performed to analyze association counts both among Results: In patients, 11.85% had counts. Higher (16.88 ± 9.09°C), humidity (57.75 17.22%), O3 (116.54 54.92 μg/m3) correlated significantly (p < 0.05) with confirmed positive associations (β = 0.003), 0.001), 0.0004) 0.05). Other pollutants showed no significant differences. Conclusion: Elevated higher temperature, humidity, levels. these factors.

Asthma is a complex, chronic inflammatory condition of the airways that comes in many forms. Because different processes drive it, we can generally categorize asthma into two main types: type 2 and non-type asthma. Type inflammation usually culprit most folks grappling with severe There noticeable difference treatment approaches for phenotypes The reason patients suffering from respond well to biological agents. Several well-verified agents, such as anti-immunoglobulin E (IgE) monoclonal antibodies, anti-interleukin (IL)-4 anti-IL-5 anti-thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) have shown outstanding effectiveness. They significantly alleviate exacerbations, lower number eosinophils, improve pulmonary function, decrease dependence on oral corticosteroids, elevate quality life This discourse meticulously evaluates therapeutic prowess agents control asthma, concurrently investigating their impact histological indices, highlight crucial role precision medicine strategic concatenation therapy this refractory malady.
