ABSTRACT Objective This study aimed to evaluate the predictive value of combining nucleated red blood cells (NRBC) with pediatric critical illness score (PCIS) in infants severe pneumonia at 28 days. Methods retrospective was conducted Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) First People's Hospital Bijie and included from September 1, 2021, August 31, 2022. Demographic, clinical, laboratory data were extracted electronic medical records, differences between groups compared. Variables showing significant binary multivariable logistic regression analysis explore independent risk factors for mortality pneumonia. A receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve used patient outcomes Results The 128 patients; days, 96 survived (survivor group), 32 had died (nonsurvivor group). Compared survivor group, nonsurvivor group lower levels platelets [348 (239–496) versus 431 (324–540) ×10 9 /L; p = 0.023], albumin [35.7 ± 5.2 vs. 37.9 4.4 g/L; 0.022], CD3 [36.9 1.7 47.6 1.8%; < 0.001], CD4 [20.4 1.2 23.6 1.9%; IgG [4.9 1.0 6.4 0.7 IgA [0.5 0.1 0.8 25‐hydroxyvitamin D(25(OH)D) [21.1 30.7 1.36 ng/mL; PCIS [72.8 7.8 87.5 6.2; P <0.001], a greater NRBC level [0.450 (0.162–0.832) 0.185 (0.100–0.500) 0.005]. Binary revealed that count (odds ratio (OR) 2.46, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.427–4.239; 0.001) (OR 0.775, CI: 0.644–0.934; 0.008) predictors 28‐day survival an area under (AUC) 0.782 (95% 0.680–0.884), AUC 0.719 0.622–0.816), when combined, 0.929 0.880–0.978). Conclusion are prognosis pneumonia, their combination can increase

Background. Nucleated red blood cells (NRBC) are reticulocyte precursors detected in the complete cell count and absent bloodstream of a healthy adult. The presence NRBC adult non-hematologic patients is being studied as biomarker an unfavorable outcome. Objective. To determine NRBC-positive patients’ prevalence intensive care unit (ICU) assess diagnostic accuracy predictor mortality. Material methods. A meta-analysis that included 19 studies with 5785 severe critically ill was performed: 16 articles contained qualitative data 5 had quantitative assays. literature search conducted following databases — PubMed, Researcher Gate e-library. Risk bias non-randomized assessed using Russian-language version Newcastle Ottawa Scale, test additionally evaluated QUADAS Questionnaire. Results. pooled ICU 36.6%. overall mortality 49.0%. weighted mean difference values between survivors non-survivors –520.43 μl–1, for ARDS: –1093.11 without –282.87 μl–1. univariate analysis showed risk ratio (RR) intrahospital all-cause increased 4.28-fold (95% CI 2.63—6.94, p<0.00001, I2=96%, p<0.00001) patients, multivariate (Cox Regression) hazard (HR) 1.26 (CI 95% 1.00—1.59, p=0.05, I2=65%, p=0.04). Hierarchical summary receiver operating characteristic areas under curves 0.745, sensitivity specificity were 72.6% 79.5% respectively, 73.7%. Conclusion. nucleated hematopathology associated hypoxia and/or release cytokines, can be used predictor.

The combined or multivalent vaccines are actively used in pediatric practice and offer a series of advantages, including reduced number injections visits to the doctor, simplicity vaccination schedule minimization side effects, easier vaccine monitoring storage, lower costs. widespread use has shown potential increase coverage against single infections. mRNA platform been be effective COVID-19 pandemic enables development vaccines. There currently no mRNA-based approved for humans. Some studies have that different components can interact decrease immunogenicity efficacy vaccine.

Abstract Background The presence of nucleated red blood cells (NRBCs) in the peripheral critically ill patients is associated with poor outcome. Evidence regarding predictive value NRBCs SARS-CoV-2-induced acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) remains elusive. aim this study was to evaluate validity these patients. Methods Daily NRBC values adult ARDS were assessed and their for mortality statistically evaluated. A cut-off level based on patient’s maximum during ICU stay calculated further specified according Youden’s method. Based value, analyses such as logistic regression models survival performed. Results 413 analyzed. Patients who did not survive had significantly higher compared survived (1090/µl [310; 3883] vs. 140/µl [20; 500]; p < 0.0001). severe ( n = 374) moderate 38) (490/µl [120; 1890] 30/µl [10; 476]; ≥ 500/µl found best stratify risk a longer duration (12 [8; 18] 18 [13; 27] days; 0.0001) mechanical ventilation (10 [6; 16] 17 [12; 26] Logistic analysis multivariate adjustment showed be an independent factor (odds ratio (OR) 4.72; 95% confidence interval (CI) 2.95–7.62, below threshold significant advantage over those above (median 32 [95% CI 8.7–43.3] 21 days 18.2–23.8], log-rank test, 0.05). once reached increased long-term 489 days, 0.0029, hazard (HR) 3.2, 1.2–8.5). Conclusions predict high prognostic power. Further studies are required confirm clinical impact eventually enhance decision making.
