Immune-mediated sensory neuronopathies (SNN) can occur alongside autoimmune disorders (e.g., Sjögren syndrome), involve autoantibodies (such as anti-FGFR3 or anti-AGO antibodies), present in isolation. The underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study aimed to investigate the role of proinflammatory cytokines these conditions. Blood levels IL-1β, IL-6, IL-17, TNF-α, INF α-2, and INF-γ were measured using a Bioplex T200 platform Bio-Plex Pro Reagent Kit III 113 patients with SNN between 2.4 464.4 months after symptom onset, categorized based on disease course (acute, subacute, chronic). Eighteen had antibodies, 48 14 an without detectable FGFR3 antibodies. Disease extent was by score, while severity evaluated modified Rankin score. Immunoreactivity against IL-6 via ELISA. Multicomponent analysis utilizing identified four distinct patient subgroups characterized differences age at onset No significant observed among regarding severity, presence association disease. A small subgroup three younger exhibited highest IL-1β. Another seven displayed elevated α-2 tended towards scores. largest group (95 subjects) comprised older individuals relatively lower cytokine decreased anti-IL-6 immunoreactivity. These profiles suggest diverse within immune-mediated SNN. Further investigation is warranted determine whether certain profiles, particularly those involving young cytokines, might benefit from targeted treatments.

Aging is a complex, progressive, and irreversible biological process that entails numerous structural functional changes in the organism. These affect all bodily systems, reducing their ability to respond adapt environment. Chronic inflammation one of key factors driving development age-related diseases, ultimately causing substantial decline abilities older individuals. This persistent inflammatory state (commonly known as “inflammaging”) characterized by elevated levels pro-inflammatory cytokines, an increase oxidative stress, perturbation immune homeostasis. Several factors, including cellular senescence, contribute this milieu, thereby amplifying conditions such cardiovascular disease, neurodegeneration, metabolic disorders. Exploring mechanisms chronic aging essential for developing targeted interventions aimed at promoting healthy aging. review explains strong connection between inflammation, highlighting potential therapeutic approaches like pharmacological treatments, dietary strategies, lifestyle changes.

Background/Objectives: Immunosenescence implies innate and adaptive immunity dysfunction, which naturally occurs with aging. It is a complex multifactorial process can be triggered by either genetic changes, immune changes or both. Numerous research studies have shown that the of senescence goes alongside chronic activation. The purpose this study to analyze in expression genes associated responses order identify reliable biomarkers for Methods: For aim, 55 clinically healthy individuals active age (21–65 years) were distributed based on immunophenotyping two groups, without signs premature senescence. A gene analysis was subsequently made those differentially expressed presented interpreted. Results: Altogether, forty-eight (48) exhibited differential between most showed up-regulation (45) (fold change more than 2), only three down-regulated less −2). highest positive fold IL-1β (10.76), BCL6 (13.25) CCL4 (15.91), while negative documented IL23R (−3.10), IL5 (−2.66) PTGS2 (COX-2) (−2.15). Conclusions: Our results reveal immunosenescence positively inflammation, typical aging process. On other hand, we identified markers possible protective effects against oxidative stress tumorigenesis. These findings aid early diagnosis degenerative diseases subclinical phase, as well development strategies prevent processes

SARS-CoV-2, first identified in December 2019, caused a global pandemic, resulting over 6.8 million deaths by March 2023. The elderly, or individuals 65, accounted for the majority of COVID-19 deaths, with 81% fatalities US 2020 occurring this group. Beyond mortality, aging populations are also at higher risk long-term cardiovascular complications and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Although these outcomes may be influenced comorbidities common age has been found to standalone factor severe infection. Therefore, investigating age-related factors is crucial protecting vulnerable Of particular interest cytokine storm phenomenon, an excessive inflammatory response that contributes symptoms, including ARDS damage. Elevated levels multiple cytokines cases COVID-19. We propose changes occur profiles as we contribute aberrant responses. This review specifically explored interleukin class IL-1, IL-6, IL-17, IL-23 considered potential biologics targeting alleviate both individuals.

Inflammation is a crucial response to harmful stimuli, but its chronic activation contributes various diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease, osteoarthritis, and neurological disorders. While nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are widely used as anti-inflammation drugs, their extended usage often results in severe side effects, emphasizing the need for safer alternatives. Therefore, it of greatest importance identify discover new agents that exhibit reduced incidence adverse effects.
