Blastocystis
spp.
has
been
linked
to
gastrointestinal
symptoms,
yet
its
pathogenicity
remains
uncertain.
In
addition,
the
roles
of
virulence
factors,
pathogenic
potential,
and
host-specific
traits
associated
with
symptomatic
infections
are
still
not
well
understood.
The
growing
number
immunocompromised
patients
contributed
an
increasing
prevalence
infections,
which
may
be
implicated
in
development
various
inflammatory
diseases,
including
irritable
bowel
syndrome
(IBS),
colorectal
cancer,
autoimmune
disorders
such
as
Hashimoto’s
disease
ulcerative
colitis.
However,
presence
nonspecific
symptoms
often
complicates
diagnosis.
This
study
aimed
present
current
data
on
impact
progression
explore
potential
treatment
options
for
infections.
A
literature
review
was
conducted
analyze
role
pathogenesis
specific
diseases
investigate
mechanisms
interaction
host
organism.
Advances
diagnostic
techniques,
particularly
PCR,
allow
only
detection
but
also
identification
subtypes,
improving
precision.
Beyond
conventional
therapies
like
metronidazole,
there
is
a
emphasis
alternative
treatments,
use
medicinal
plants
probiotics.

Chemo-immunotherapy

cancer.
