Gut microbial communities are highly dynamic and respond to factors such as diet host metabolism. However, there is limited information about how these responses can generate community dynamics at different time scales, circadian rhythms. The aim of the present study was characterize variations along a daily cycle in gut microbiota fish on feeding regimes. In addition, an estimation potential contribution bacterial digestive process assessed. greater amberjack ( Seriola dumerili ) used experimental species, promising species for Mediterranean aquaculture. Fish were randomly distributed two regimes, triplicate rearing tanks. Feeding regimes continuous time-restricted (three meals per day). feces RNA-based amplicon sequencing proteolytic capacity sampled 24h cycle. Time-restricted fed exhibited changes composition active promoted by feeding, thus revealing types profiles: “pre-feeding” “active-feeder” profiles. Continuous-fed maintained profile throughout whole day. Bray-Curtis Sørensen similarity indicated that differences between profiles mainly driven absence/presence infrequent ASVs (amplicon variant sequences). activity tended be higher before feeding. Thus, could key factor understanding digestion, playing role interactions with conclusion, our results suggest pattern sampling important parameters when assessing microbiome’s
