This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and acceptability of moxibustion with walnut shell spectacles in treating dry eye disease (DED) patients provide treatment options.126 DED were randomly allocated into group (treated by spectacles, 64 cases) artificial tears sodium hyaluronate drops, 62 cases). Evaluate changes ocular surface index (OSDI), visual analogue scale (VAS) discomfort, tear film break-up time (TBUT), corneal fluorescein staining (CFS), Schirmer I test during trial at baseline after 1-week, 2-week, 3-week, 4-week treatment. OSDI symptom VAS one month end treatment.There no significant differences characteristics between two groups. For scores, results showed that was less than group. both groups significantly reduced their score compared baseline, for group, decrease more significant. TBUT, FAS, PPS, eyes 4 weeks treatment, but right CFS there effect groups.Moxibustion could improve clinical symptoms stability patients; however, it has on improving injury secretion, just same as drops. Nevertheless, may have better effects self-assessment discomfort

Dry eye disease (DED) is a common ocular disorder affecting millions worldwide. It characterized by reduced tear production and/or increased evaporation, leading to discomfort and impaired vision. Corneal imaging techniques are valuable tools for diagnosing monitoring DED, as they can provide objective quantitative information on the structure function of surface film. This chapter will review principles applications various corneal such Slit-Lamp Biomicroscopy, Fluorescein CorneoGraphy, In Vivo Confocal Microscopy, Optical Coherence Tomography, Lipid Layer Interferometry, Topography, Fluorophotometry. The advantages limitations each technique discussed, well their potential role in future research clinical practice, treatment efficacy guiding personalized approaches.
