We aimed to analyze the correlation between serum lipid levels [total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein (LDL-C), high (HDL-C)] and recurrence after uterine fibroids (UF) resection, explore predictive value of in determining myomectomy. In this retrospective cohort study, 323 patients undergoing first myomectomy who came from Li Huili Hospital, Ningbo Medical Center December 2019 January 2023 were included. The primary endpoint was UF within 12 months following surgery. Univariate multivariate logistic regression analyses adopted evaluate association four parameters risk recurrence. All included randomly assigned training group for nomogram development testing validation, with a ratio 7:3. Receiver operator characteristic, calibration curves, decision curve analysis used assess predicting performance constructed nomograms. Totally, 98 developed Multivariate indicated that TC [odds (OR) = 9.98, 95% confidence interval (CI): 4.28–23.30], LDL-C (OR 11.31, CI: 4.66–27.47) HDL-C 2.37, 1.21–4.64) associated risk. TG level did not statistical significance (P > 0.05). Four online prediction nomograms by integrating clinical features (TC-model, TG-model, LDL-C-model HDL-C-model). The weight-adjusted waist index (WWI) has emerged as a reliable indicator of abdominal obesity. α-Klotho, transmembrane protein, functions suppressor aging. However, the relationship between these two factors remains underexplored. This study aims to investigate association WWI and serum α-Klotho levels in middle-aged elderly Americans, with focus on exploring potential mediating role systemic immune inflammation (SII). A cross-sectional was conducted using data from 6997 Americans participating National Health Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) 2011 2016. Multiple linear regression analysis employed assess concentrations. Additionally, mediation performed effect SII relationships. Our revealed significant negative correlation survey-weighted multiple models (adjusted percent change: -7.79; 95% CI: -10.15, -5.37). Mediation demonstrated that partially mediated by -0.88; -1.24, -0.45), proportion amounting 11.6%. Further age-stratified results showed more pronounced among individuals aged ≥ 60 years, exhibiting 26.3%, contrast 4.2% for those < years. findings suggest is inversely associated concentrations this SII, especially older people.

Introduction Serological responses following hepatitis B vaccination are crucial for preventing (HBV). However, the potential relationship between serum lipid levels and immunity from HBV remains poorly understood. Methods In this study, we conducted an analysis of National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) data spanning 2003 to 2016. Multivariable weighted logistic regression models, generalized linear analysis, stratified smooth curve fitting, segmentation effect sensitivity were utilized assess relationships. Results After adjusting relevant covariates, observed that low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL) independently linked a significantly lower seroprotective rate. Compared HDL ≥ 60 mg/dL, odds ratios (ORs) individuals with borderline (40-59 mg/dL men, 50-59 women) (< 40 < 50 0.83 (95% CI 0.69-0.99) 0.65 0.56-0.78), respectively. This association was particularly pronounced in aged or older. Conversely, higher triglyceride (TG/HDL) ratio (OR, 0.90; 95% CI, 0.84-0.98), total (Chol/HDL) 0.77; 0.64-0.92), low-density (LDL/HDL) 0.85; 0.76-0.96) associated decreased likelihood seroprotection. Conclusion study suggests may play role modulating immune response vaccination.

Leiomyomas (fibroids) are monoclonal tumors in which myometrial stem cells (MSCs) turn tumorigenic after mutation, abnormal methylation, or aberrant signaling. Several factors contribute to metabolic dysfunction obesity, including cellular proliferation, oxidative stress, and DNA damage. The present study aims determine how adipocytes adipocyte-secreted affect changes MSCs a manner that promotes the growth of uterine leiomyomas. Myometrial were isolated from uteri patients by fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) using CD44/Stro1 antibodies. Observational studies suggest that blood lipids are a risk factor for uterine fibroids (UFs) and lipid-lowering drugs beneficial the treatment prevention of UF; however, conclusions inconsistent. We aimed to determine causal effects on UFs using Mendelian randomization (MR). Genetic variants from genome-wide association (GWAS) lipid traits in genes encoding drug targets were extracted, two independent UF GWAS set as outcome. Their related estimated inverse variance weighted method. The MR analysis revealed high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C, OR = 0.88, 95 % CI: 0.83-0.93, P 3.58E-6) triglycerides (TG, 1.14, 1.07-1.21, 6.83E-5) protective factors UF, respectively. Drug-targeted results indicated genetically predicted inhibition cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) was associated with lower (OR 0.95, 0.92-0.98, 7.83E-4), well reduced levels or other UF-associated clinical traits, including estradiol level, excessive menstruation, abdominal pelvic pain, myomectomy, miscarriage. Our study provides evidence HDL-C TG causally risk. Genetically proxied CETP may have effect against which warrants further investigation.
