This review explores the intricate relationship between glaucoma and circadian rhythm disturbances. As a principal organ for photic signal reception transduction, eye plays pivotal role in coordinating body's rhythms through specialized retinal ganglion cells (RGCs), particularly intrinsically photosensitive RGCs (ipRGCs). These are critical transmitting light signals to suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN), central clock that synchronizes physiological processes 24-hour light-dark cycle. The delves into body clock, highlighting importance of retino-hypothalamic tract conveying information from eyes SCN. It underscores melanopsin ipRGCs absorbing initiating biochemical reactions culminate synchronization SCN's firing patterns with external environment. Furthermore, discusses local within eye, such as those affecting photoreceptor sensitivity, corneal thickness, intraocular fluid outflow. emphasizes potential optical coherence tomography (OCT) studying structural losses associated disruption. Glaucomatous damage is identified cause disruption, mechanisms including oxidative stress, neuroinflammation, direct RGCs. consequences disruption complex, systemic rhythms, sleep patterns, mood, metabolism. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between sleep duration and myopia in school-age students, as well observe role of physical activity a mediating variable myopia. Using multistage stratified sampling, 26,020 students Jiangsu Province, ages 7-18, were selected for this cross-sectional survey. Each participant completed standardized interview which their asked about vision, level average hours per day over past month. Visual acuity examinations conducted by testing team's ophthalmology professionals they categorized into two groups based on pre-set criteria: myopic non-myopic. Sleep was classified 3 categories: <8 h/d, 8-10 >10 h/d. The Pearson's chi-square tests used examine differences incidence among participants. Biosensors are essential tools designed to monitor physiologically significant data for diverse applications, including environmental pollution detection, food safety, medication research, and disease diagnosis. The integration of microfluidics, nanotechnology, advanced electronics has significantly the development wearable implantable biosensors managing chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes, glaucoma. Among these, glaucoma remains a leading cause visual impairment, predominantly driven by elevated intraocular pressure (IOP), with limited treatment effectiveness due challenges like suboptimal drug bioavailability therapeutic inefficiency. Despite advances, unmet needs in early diagnosis sustained management persist, demanding innovative solutions. Recent advancements nanotechnology offer transformative potential, addressing these enhancing both detection ocular diseases. This review explores cutting-edge developments nano-drug delivery systems continuous IOP monitoring technologies. Objective To investigate the causal effects of physical activity and sedentary traits on risk Age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Methods A two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis was used to relationship between AMD. We genome-wide association studies (GWAS) summary statistics from two publicly available biobank-scale cohorts: UK Biobank FinnGen. Physical data were self-reported by 703,901 participants behaviour gathered 159,606 FinnGen participants. Our primarily inverse variance weighted (IVW) method. Result Engaging in moderate-to-vigorous significantly reduced AMD with an odds ratio 0.77 (95% CI: 0.66–0.89). However, leisure screen time showed a slight but non-statistically significant upward trend. Sedentary at work, commuting no risk. Conclusions This study MR examine activity, behaviour, It offers genetic evidence suggesting that may protect against AMD, emphasizing significance lifestyle factors maintaining ocular health.

This study aimed to systematically evaluate the dose-response relationships between physical activity (PA), sedentary behavior(SB) (including near work [NW] and screen time [ST]), sleep duration (SD), myopia risk among children adolescents. Systematic review meta-analysis. We searched PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Web of Science up November 19, 2024. Methodological quality was assessed using Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) ROBINS-I tools. Random-effects meta-analyses were used estimate categorical continuous relationships. Subgroup analyses sensitivity performed explore heterogeneity sources test robustness. A total 45 observational studies (766,848 participants aged 5–19 years) included. Categorical showed that, compared with lowest exposure categories, higher PA levels (highest: OR = 0.77, 95% CI: 0.63–0.96; intermediate: 0.76, 0.63–0.93) longer SD 0.67, 0.48–0.92; 0.82, 0.73–0.92) significantly reduced risk. Conversely, NW 1.71, 1.28–2.27; 1.34, 1.19–1.50) ST 1.59, 1.14–2.22; 1.29, 1.12–1.49) associated increased In meta-analysis, a linear association observed PA, ST, myopia. Each additional hour per day by 12%, while each 31%. Nonlinear associations found NW, SD, Among adolescents, 1.5 2.5 h/day 25% 29%, respectively. Although myopia, this effect did not reach statistical significance at any level.Subgroup revealed that protective effects more evident in low- middle-income countries, smaller sample sizes, cross-sectional studies, risks related stronger low-income settings. Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a leading cause of vision loss in patients with diabetes. While medical treatments like retinal laser photocoagulation, anti-VEGF therapy, and vitrectomy are primary, complementary therapies gaining increasing attention. Based on the existing literature, healthy lifestyle, including balanced diet, stress management techniques, regular physical activity targeting DR, can help regulate blood sugar levels improve overall mental health to reduce complications. This article explores activities visual training methods related emphasizing therapies, even though some these practices currently not fully integrated into evidence-based ophthalmology.
