Agarwood is a resinous heartwood of various species Thymelaeaceae and, one its common use incense, wherein the resin-loaded chips and compressed dust are burnt over heated charcoal or glowing embers to release smoke. The effect this smoke on human health discussed in review. While has been found benefit neurological issues, it detrimental pulmonary cardiovascular system, besides being carcinogenic. There need for study mitigate ill effects while harnessing therapeutic benefits agarwood incense.
