Forests play a crucial role in global carbon cycling by absorbing and storing significant amounts of atmospheric dioxide. Although boreal forests contribute to approximately 45% the total forest sink, tree growth soil sequestration are constrained nutrient availability. Here, we examine if long-term input enhances productivity whether this leads storage or stimulated microbial decomposition organic matter limits accumulation. Over six decades, nitrogen, phosphorus, calcium were supplied Pinus sylvestris-dominated forest. We found that nitrogen fertilization alone together with and/or phosphorus increased biomass production 50% 65% compared unfertilized plots. However, nonlinear relationship observed between stock across treatments suggests regulation. When was co-applied it acidified soil, fungal biomass, altered community composition, enhanced biopolymer degradation capabilities. While no evidence competition ectomycorrhizal saprotrophic fungi has been observed, key functional groups potential reduce stocks identified. In contrast, when added without because activity likely limited conclusion, addition may warming mitigation, but effect is context dependent.

Bacterial wilt of tomatoes, caused by Ralstonia solanacearum, is a significant soilborne disease that often causes reductions in the yield tomatoes. Dark septate endophytic fungi (DSE) represent potential biocontrol agents against plant pathogens can also enhance growth. To collect DSE with for biocontrol, fungus Cladophialophora guangxiense HX2 was isolated from rhizosphere soil sugarcane Hengzhou Guangxi Province, China, and novel species identified based on morphological properties DNA sequence analysis. C. demonstrated controlling effect 76.7% tomato bacterial promoted 0.5-fold increase seedling height. It colonized roots, enhancing activity antioxidant defensive enzyme systems. Transcriptomic qPCR approaches were used to study induction response strain infection comparing gene expression profiles. Gene ontology (GO) Kyoto Encyclopedia Genome (KEGG) pathway enrichment revealed tomatoes produce salicylic acid metabolism, ethylene-activated signaling, photosynthesis, phenylpropanoid biosynthesis infection. The IAA4 (3.5-fold change), ERF1 Hqt (1.5-fold change) substantially enhanced Hsc 70 (0.5-fold significantly reduced treatment group. This provides theoretical foundation further investigation into as biological agent prevention control wilt.
