Qiwei Baizhu Powder (QWBZP) has been proven effective in treating antibiotic-associated diarrhea (AAD), and the mechanism is associated with regulating gut microbiota. However, role of bioactive compounds QWBZP microbiota still unclear. In this study, 24 mice were divided into a normal control group (N), model (R), decoction (TW), QWBZP-TG (TG). AAD mouse models established by mixed antibiotic administration. After modeling, TW TG treated QWBZP-TG, respectively. Mice N R gavaged sterile water. 16S rRNA gene sequencing was used to investigate changes mucosa-associated (MAM) small intestine mice. Moreover, levels diamine oxidase (DAO), D-Lactate, secretory immunoglobulin A (sIgA), interleukin 6 (IL-6), IL-10, tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) detected using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kits. The results showed that significantly altered diversity, structure, abundance MAM exerted stronger suppression effect on Escherichia Clostridium compared decoction. Meanwhile, downregulated Lactobacillus , which elicited an opposite Prevotella signature bacteria responded intervention. Furthermore, both decreased DAO, sIgA, IL-6, TNF-α glycosides help ameliorate symptoms inhibiting proliferation diarrhea-associated bacteria, reducing inflammation immunity.

This study aims to explore the therapeutic mechanism of Massa Medicata Fermentata (MMF) with different formulations on spleen deficiency constipation in mice by analyzing gastrointestinal hormones, D-xylose, intestinal microbiota, and enzyme activities. A model was established using an oral administration Sennae Folium decoction combined controlled diet water intake. After successful establishment, were treated MMF S1, S2, S3. Following intervention, serum samples from each group collected measure VIP, 5-HT, D-xylose. Additionally, small intestine contents analyzed for activity subjected 16S rRNA high-throughput sequencing. Mice showed significant decreases body weight fecal content. In contrast, CS2 CS3 groups returned normal levels, content also normal. The S2 S3 significantly increased protease sucrase enzymes levels compared CM group. Serum D-xylose reduced VIP but decreased groups. 5-HT CS1 significantly, returning showing increases. sequencing analysis revealed that all three effectively restored microbiota composition mice. LEfSe identified characteristic linked intervention upregulated chloroalkane chloroalkene degradation vibrio cholerae pathogenic cycle pathways Candidatus_Arthromitus Psychrobacter positive negative correlations respectively. alleviated symptoms modulating activities, restoring balance. as potential biomarkers treatment constipation. Different have mechanisms regulating through microbiota.

Treatment methods in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) are foundational to their theoretical, methodological, formulaic, and pharmacological systems, significantly contributing syndrome differentiation therapy. The principle of "promoting urination regulate bowel movements" is a common therapeutic approach TCM. core concept the dispersion drainage water dampness, regulating relieve diarrhea," yet its scientific underpinning remains unclear. Modern medical treatment for watery diarrhea primarily focuses on electrolyte replenishment, as diuretics may lead dehydration other side effects. Some reports suggest that this TCM lacks validity. Microecology, an area associated with origins TCM, closely related development, diagnosis, diarrhea. renal-intestinal axis offers molecular biological basis examining pathological mechanisms, advancing targets such "treating intestine address kidney issues" highlighting interactions within "renal-intestinal microbiota-liquid metabolism" framework, thus providing endogenous mechanism support through kidney." An increasing number studies have shown intestinal microbiota metabolites, unique mediators, involved physiological changes body. Therefore, study explores relationship between fluid metabolism from perspective aiming elucidate mechanisms underlying clarify treating via axis. This research provides new insights microbiology.

Objectives Many studies have confirmed that antibacterial agents can disrupt the human gut microbiota. In China, Tanreqing injection (TRQ) is a drug with activity widely used in treatment of respiratory infections. However, its specific influence on microbiota remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate effect TRQ healthy volunteers. Methods Twelve adults received 20 ml intravenously daily for 7 consecutive days. At six timepoints (Pre, D1, D3, D5, D7 and follow-up visit) fecal samples were collected analyzed using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Results Eleven people included analysis finally. did not significantly alter diversity or richness (Shannon Simpson Chao1 index) during intervention. Gut microbial structure was stable (weighted unweighted Unifrac). Using machine learning method based PLS-DA analysis, separation trend at genus level found, returning baseline two days after discontinuation. The abundance major fluctuated compared prior treatment, including an increase unclassified_f_Enterobacteriaceae (13.0611%), decrease Bifidobacterium Escherichia-Shigella (6.887%, 10.487%). Functional prediction reveal any significant difference. Conclusions Our showed short-term use conventional doses may cause perturbations adults. finding provides some useful information safe Clinical trial registration https://www.medicalresearch.org.cn/ , identifier MR-31-24-014367.
