Coronaviruses infect a wide range of animal and human hosts. Some coronaviruses, such as SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV, SARS-CoV-2, originated in animals, with bats often serving ancestral This study analyzed samples from wild animals three Mexican states, using an RT-PCR assay targeting the RdRp gene to detect genotype assessing their potential role reservoirs. Phylogenetic analysis was conducted determine genetic relationships identified coronaviruses. Gammacoronavirus RNA fallow deer, llamas, spider monkeys, mouflons; Betacoronavirus mouflons dwarf goats; Alphacoronavirus goats ponies. The detected viral sequences exhibited high nucleotide identity known including Avian coronavirus (Gammacoronavirus), Murine (Betacoronavirus), 1 Wénchéng shrew (unclassified Alphacoronavirus), Bat HKU10 (Alphacoronavirus). These findings represent first report coronavirus, these species, well detection mouflons. provides valuable insights into wildlife reservoirs, highlighting importance monitoring viruses mitigate future zoonotic transmission risks.
