Endophytes can be a promising alternative for sustainable agronomic practices. In this study, we report the first time root-colonizing fungal strain (Sl27) of genus Leptobacillium as tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) endophyte, with no clear homology to any known species. Performed analyses and assays, including morphological physiological characterization isolate, provided insights into ecological niche potential agronomical industrial applications isolate. The ability Sl27 establish symbiotic relationship host plant was assessed through experiments under controlled conditions in growth chamber greenhouse. Seed-inoculation showed detrimental effects three genotypes studied (TH-30, ADX2, MO-10). influence on parameters dependent genotype, TH-30 showing most prominent improved phenotype. Moreover, chlorophyll lycopene content fruits were enhanced. These findings provide basis further studies application new isolate improving crop performance.
