ABSTRACT The composition of animal gut microbiota is significantly affected by a variety factors. Seasonal variation in environmental factors believed to have significant impact on the mammalian microbiota. Therefore, studying seasonal differences diversity wildlife great importance explore their ecological adaptability. This study compared short‐faced moles ( Scaptochirus moschatus ) spring, summer, and autumn using 16S rRNA amplification sequencing. Our results reveal function Compared summer are more similar each other. relative abundance Firmicutes higher spring than autumn, while Proteobacteria that spring. There carbohydrate metabolism between autumn. correlation analysis suggest climatic strongly associated with moles, especially temperature humidity. present discusses variations diversity. These will highlight potential changes subterranean mammals provide new view for comprehensively understanding adaptation mammals.
