Integrating behavioral and physiological assessment is critical to improve our ability assess animal welfare in biomedical settings. Hair, blood, saliva samples were collected from 40 recently acquired male African green monkeys (AGMs) analyze concentrations of hair cortisol, plasma β-endorphin, lysozyme alongside focal observations. The statistical methodology utilized machine learning multivariate generalized linear mixed models find associations between behaviors fluctuations lysozyme, β-endorphin concentrations. study population was divided into two groups the effectiveness an enrichment intervention, though cortisol results revealed no difference groups. principal component analysis (PCA) with a Bayesian model reveals several significant patterns specific responses, highlighting need for further research deepen understanding how correlate welfare. This study’s demonstrates more refined approach interpreting these that can help inform development better management practices.
