This study aims to explore the effects of different human-machine interfaces, system performance, and robot interaction modalities on over-trust in chat companion systems. We designed implemented three types interfaces: 2D Virtual Interface + Robot, 3D Augmented Reality AR-based Real World NAO Physical Robot. also manipulated performance (high or low) modality (language, gesture, both). conducted a user with 30 participants, who interacted under conditions rated their trust, distrust, human-robot distance. measured experience terms usefulness ease use. The results showed that type interface significantly influenced distance users, augmented reality was most effective enhancing trust reducing distrust affected gesture sensitive variation. did not have significant impact dependent variables. ratings indicated useful easy implications limitations these findings are discussed paper.
