Objective To investigate the current situation of olfactory dysfunction in patients after endoscopic transsphenoidal resection pituitary tumors, and analyze its influencing factors, to provide references for clinical nursing rehabilitation. Methods A cross-sectional study design convenience sampling method were used 158 with tumors treated by tumor Department Neurosurgery three Grade-A general hospitals Sichuan Province from January 2022 June 2023. The function was evaluated 1 week surgery, data related collected, factors disorder analyzed logistic regression. Results incidence 73.42%. analysis revealed that formation blood scabs, nasal cavity adhesion, cerebrospinal fluid leakage operation time independent risk ( p < 0.05). Conclusion is high suggesting medical staff should pay close attention identify based on guidance disease knowledge skills, develop targeted interventions, promote improvement patients’ quality life.

Olfactory dysfunction is one of the most prevalent diseases in otorhinolaryngology, particularly since coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, with a potential impact on daily life. Several etiological factors can contribute to olfactory owing complexity and specificity transmission pathway. However, current treatments for are limited their efficacy unsatisfactory. stem cells multifunctional mucosa that comprise both horizontal global basal (HBCs GBCs, respectively). These differentiate into various cell types response different stimuli distinct characteristics. The aim study was discuss mechanisms functions application treatment dysfunction.

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is characterized not only by motor symptoms but also non-motor dysfunctions, such as olfactory impairment; the cause fully understood. Our study suggests that neuronal loss and inflammation in brain regions along pathway, bulb (OB) piriform cortex (PC), may contribute to dysfunction PD mice, which might be related downregulation of trace amine-associated receptor 1 (TAAR1) these areas. In striatum, although a decrease mRNA level, protein TAAR1 was detected, bioinformatic analyses substantiated its correlation with PD. Moreover, we discovered death OB PC mice regulated TAAR through Bcl-2/caspase3 pathway. This manifested anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 an increase pro-apoptotic cleaved caspase3, or regulating astrocytes activity, astrocytes, lead decreased clearance glutamate consequent neurotoxicity. summary, have identified possible mechanism elucidate PD, positing damage due apoptosis astrocyte activity pathway conjunction TAAR1.
